Redone camera System hanging

Hai am from india here today first time i got chance to participate work with redone camera for a short film.. but when we start shooting the camera were hanging can't redcord visuals continuously... 2 technicians were also there in location with camera we rent the cam from chennai.. but they were also helpless they dono wht to do.. said maybe because of the climate temp (hot) but in fact today climate was nice and little rainy too.. at last we could'nt shoot with red after that we changed to hvx200 ... there is no service center and no real good technicians here. then how can we spend money for it ??? everyone was really very much exited to see the result from redone but aftrer this kinda disappointment ?

I highly doubt that it was a temp problem. What accessories were being powered off of the camera including Red and 3rd party accessories?

Are you trying to record 4K 16:9? RedCode 28 or 36?

I've seen plenty of CODEC_ERROR messages using the 4K 16:9 setting. My advice is try 4K 2:1 and set 16:9 guidelines inside that frame, then crop to that in RedCine afterwards when exporting.

Like sean said, not a temp issue.
check your lcd and evf connection, try pulling out and then putting it back in again. (please no, thats what she said jokes)
Im not EXACTLY sure what your question is.. wether the camera is literally freezing on record? or not recording or not booting, so im just guessing.

Also check to make sure your not shooting in burst mode,
Maybe your seeing the time code in RED and tally light on, but the time code isnt moving?

Thanks visakk i just got the opertunity to work in that project but at that time as i wrote in other thread got some problems with camera. system was hanging but i dono wht happend with it.yes i just participate in that project thats all. The camera operator is another person..

Hi

The battery plates on the RED are really bad and wear out.

If this happens (doesn't happen to all, but is the most recurring complaint one sees, and I have it myself) there are short-term and longterm solutions.

Long term:
Get a new

Short term:
Use gaffa to build up the plate around the connector to make the battery fit without play.

I have seen no offical comment from RED on this, but my guess is that the design will change shortly... It should.
