P+S TECHNIK IMS Camera Front for RED One

Sanjin,

come on - show us your RED with some Leica M glass, please!

Hi Peter,

Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.0 would be the best.

New lens costs in Hamburg 4.795,- € .

Like a vintage is not cheaper at all.

Do you have one?

Don't worry, IMS is coming soon and PST is working on this.

IMS+Birger EF is a dream lens mount system for every digital cinema camera.

If I am lucky enough it could be possible to make it.

Like every development in that field it needs time.

But Leica-M on RED with IMS should be soon available.

Cheers

Hi everyone,

I hope this question has not been answered yet in another thread :whistling:
But does anyone knows how Leica M lenses will work with Red One's sensor?
I ask this because of the short flange focal distance of the Leica M8.
Is the flange focal distance (flange-to-film/sensor distance or register) of the Red One longer than the Leica M? If so, will it make my M lenses usable only for close-up and macro photography?

PS: Sorry for my English , I'm french...

Looking forward to use some vintage Canon M39 lenses on RED (25mm 3.5/28mm 2.8/35mm 1.5/50mm 0.95). Back then I just could not afford Leica lenses and now I shall just wait and see.
My guess is that M lenses will work fine from 50mm up, shorter lenses could probably have problems with light fall-offs.

I stay with Leica-R lenses as a base prime set and with use of

Nikkor, Sigma, Canon and Zeiss to fulfil the holes in between.

Actually for documentary work would be the best to have something like

Nikkor 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 G ED

and looking forward to get Nikon G to Canon EF adaptor from 16:9.
