I want to edit my red footage in Final Cut Pro 6.0, not 6.0.2. I have my reasons for doing this..... what I want to know is this going to slow me down or cause me any problems? Is 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 updates that much better than the 6.0 version?

Any opinions? They would be more than welcome.

Thanks

Ryan

Only reason I'd think you might worry is updating older project files might be dicey? If you're worried about it, then make copies to open and leave the originals alone.

6.0.3 and QT 7.4.5 with OS 10.4.11 or 10.5.2 seem to work very well. There's been bug fixes between 6.0 and 6.0.3 I'd want to have. Plus the log and transfer plugin requires 6.0.3.

Thanks for the advice I went ahead and updated my Final Cut to 6.0.3!

Ryan, I think you'll be okay.As Jerry mentioned, backup your project files so they are always retained in their 6.0.2 state and if you had to restore the system, you'd be okay.

Other than that, there are still some bugs in FCP that drive me crazy but not sure I've seen anything big that is specific to 6.03.

I don't have Final Cut 6...I have 5, but do you have the problem in version 6 that when you change accounts (through the quick shortcut) does the Canvas act up? It is difficult to explain.
