  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We were going to have a whip attachment but when it came down to it we had to decide between a dampening adjustment on the knob or the whip... we chose the dampening. I don't think the whip issue is really going to be a problem as you can just go wireless or use a longer control cable if you ever need the extra room in a shot.

All three axes are controlled using the same knob. If you need to control two at the same time then you can use the auto buttons. The microforce version of the control wont come out until later in the summer.

The pro version may be a stand alone unit separate from this one. We have broken out all of the control buttons to a header on the back of the unit so if we are able to there is a possibility to integrate the two. We need to get this shipping then we can tackle the pro version next.

The guts of Impero are essentially the same as the supergrip so I don't expect it to be long after we ship impero before we have something like the supergrip ready.

Yeah, a friend told me about them. Great work, reasonable price, and customer service that rules. Erik.... if you look in one of those renders you'll see a micro usb port. The micro USB has a pin that is called "ID" (pin4). If you pull that to ground then the D+ and D- lines become RX and TX lines so we will be able to talk to your mount. Just FYI :)

It would be a shame if you couldn't do it for two reasons.

The first is that it looked so cool and brilliant when you showed the first thoughts in how to do it.

Secondly I'm only really interested in the Pro version but ordered 2 standards in the wait for it.

(the first is the important reason though :wink: )

I'm not saying we won't do it, I'm just saying that we are so busy at the moment that I can't really say. I put as much flexibility in the design as I could given the time constraints that I had.
 
curt any improvements to the sound level the motor is producing...?

I'll have Josh post some testing videos in the next few days. The noise is fine at slow to medium speeds, it gets a little loud when you really crank it up to full speed... Inclino can do up to 120 RPM so the production model can move as fast as I am able to turn the knob.

Curt, we did the same thing with the USB on our mount. So we could get the fourth serial port out...

You heard it here first on RedUser... it is official, the Impero and the SuperGrip will work with the Birger mount.

Please don't ask Curt or I when this will be working... :sarcasm:
 
I'm trying to get a couple issues squared away with manufacturing.. I'll make sure we get something posted soon.

All the plastics are in for Impero, a couple parts were textured incorrectly so our supplier is doing another run of parts. We will have all plastics in house by next Wed. then it takes a couple days to do the pad printing... so we will be able to start final assembly by next Thurs/Fri. Its been like pulling teeth to get our vendors to deliver on time. Sorry I couldn't find a PBR for scale, I had to use a Heineken instead ;)
