Spent much of the day on the collimation statistical models, and it is really coming together nicely. After the umteenth time removing and replacing a +1 Diopter - it occurred to me that a split diopter would be a very cool thing to make collimation faster and more accurate.
There are two sorts of splits, where the lens is a half circle, and where the lens is a donut. I am looking for the half circle sort. The only thing I could find is the Cokin P111, a plastic lens that fits into its P-Series holder. By the time all is included still under $50:

This is probably good enough for what we need it for - just shifting infinity to a meter or so in half the frame, and leaving a meter at its rightful place in the other half... but a better quality split would be nice. 77mm thread will go onto all of the lenses that we are looking at for collimation, including the 16-35 as long as an 82mm-77mm step down ring is used.
Anybody know of a another cheap 77mm +1 Diopter Split?
