Here are a few still captures I've graded from recent shoots we've worked on with our camera.

I've tried to show a wide variety of possible grades to suit the mood of each shot, from very natural to very stylistic, in order to demonstrate just how flexible the image is.

All the grades have been done entirely in RedCine, with only the borders added in Photoshop for visual consistency and additional artistic feel.

Enjoy!

[EDIT] Apologies but I was asked to remove some of the shots for one of the productions. Thanks for all those of you who provided gracious feedback below!

Jeez!

Are these shot to be stills or like film. Some of them remind me of a project I hope to get through. soon.

What lens?

How did you grade?
ah... in RC...

Exquisite...This grading is so delicate and atmospheric...Really the best I have seen to date...Like the canvas of a fine painting.

No wonder the word tone is used both for music and for color this is both in one.

Was this what you were going for before hand when concieving your shoot or something you discovered when sitting with the material?

How far is the original material to where you have taken it?

What type of monitor did you use to check your work?

Paul, all I can say is that I recall some time last year, asking a question to Jim, him also been a Canon shooter like my self, how good would have been the RED One with stills, and I don't recall exactly if He answered him self or some one else of the RED team, any way, I was told not to sale my Canons as yet, but this work can easily look like something that just come out form a 1Ds III!

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!

Fantastic work and choices on the grading as well, love both the composition, lighting and color captured and twisted in each of your images, it gives a great fill and sense of the RED capacity, and I simply LOVE IT!

Thanks for sharing them with us.

ciao

Sorry for all the latecomers who are looking at blank spaces, I was asked to remove some of the shots from one of the productions. I've decided to remove all of them to avoid rubbing anyone up the wrong way, though the intent was to promote the quality of the images.

To answer all your questions, there were various lenses used including the Red 18-50 as well as Arri/Zeiss Superspeeds.

Grading was done via my Eizo S2411W 24" LCD monitor only, hardware calibrated using the Colorvision Spyder2. RedCine was set to Camera RGB and Rec.709 colour space. No sharpening was applied beyond RedCine's OLPF compensation.

All the shots are parts of either commercials or music videos. Needless to say they look spectacular! I'm hoping to get the final products up here one day in moving form, but that will depend on lots of external factors out of my control.

The original imagery looks very flat in comparison to what you saw. To me grading is as much a part of getting the most out of this camera as knowing how to use it on set.

Cheers all, your comments will continue to inspire me to create even more beautiful imagery in the future for my own productions.

too late...

Can somebody please close this thread so we don't have to continue wondering whether there's anything to see or not everytime we log in to the forum?

I concur Rudi, mods please lock this thread. If I am able to post them again later I'll open a new thread.

Cheers to all and my apologies for those who missed out.
