Hi out there,
I am doing a job in redcine and can't output my shots as a tiff sequence (16bit) ??? When I hit go it takes time rendering the sequence but when I exit and find the rendered files it has only output one tiff frame.
I have been exporting greenscreen shots as quicktimes (raw) for use in After Effects...but wondered if exporting as Tiffs sequences (16bit) would be the best quality for keying down the track in After effects.
If anyone can help me with this problem of not getting a tiff sequence out that would be great!
Thanks

The problem is most likely coming from your file name conventions. In the filename specifications under output, make sure that you select "seperate folders", "input file name" and "input file numbers". Start with that and see if that solves the problem.

Tiff sequences

Hi jeremy...I have tried creating a separate folder but when I press input frames nothing happens....and when I press the digital counter and a calculator pops up I type in the clip length but it keeps defaulting back to 6.
When naming the file do I need to write it in any specific way....must I leave the Event part at the head of the file name?
Sorry for the dumb questions but it's all new to me and I can't find any online tutorials.....
Are there any tutorials online to help me better understand the export part of redcine?
cheers
Dana

Hi Dana,

Go ahead and try this. Load one file into Redcine, go to the output section and click on "set output path", choose where you would like the files to go. Then click on format and choose tiff and 16bit. Then click on the file name and select all three buttons "seperate folders", "input file name" and "input file numbers" and then hit enter. Your file name should read somehthing like this "EVENT#Z/#F#&.E". Now hit the go button and it should write out the sequence to a new folder. Try this and let us know if it works.

In terms of tutorials for this specific workflow, I don't think there is anything out there yet. There are a handful of Redcine tutorial videos on red.com, but it does not get very specific in terms of detailing all the different output options.
