Well my friends, La User group meetings are just getting better every month. We have been toying around with streaming one of the events. There is allot of information that gets passed around that I'm sure all of you would want to hear.

There are allot of cost involved in doing something like this, and we don't do things half ass around here. So I would like to find out how many of you would actually log on and watch it, and what you would like to see... We are in the exploratory phase at the moment.

We will have an RSVP up in a day or two so keep an eye open for it. For know let me hear from you on this thread. The more suggestions the better...

Thank you my Brothers.

I'd like to hear more about RED ALERT, choosing the various export options such as REDLOG, 709 etc. and when to use each.
Also any updates on COLOR reading R3D and when this is likely to happen.

Finally, any real world stories of being on set and how RED is changing the way we do things.

Cheers,

I want to hear more information from people at RED and people working for companies with products we will be working with. Also its nice to hear first hand experiences of products, like www.finnerknowsbest.com gives good insight to the accessories for RED cameras. I want more information about workflow, and post production solutions as well.

It would be great to see a step by step workflow of DIT working with RED on set or a simulated set of the necessary procedures and explanation of standard equipment like proper monitors for the director and dp. playback. Maybe seeing something like the Maxtor Mx2 being in use with vectorscopes and waveform monitors.

I think the more methodical the approach the better...An outline of areas and a sequence of steps of development within each...SOmething that can be complimented and updated easily...Something live and of course a way to retrieve missed episodes...Also just the way you are doing now during the intervals getting some feedback and staying atuned to whats in the air at the moment.

Good point about who we want to see...First no matter how in depth the information is if you have someone who cant communicate then you are going to turn people off...Its very personal having another human being/s piece meal info for you.

Have a catching up faze and even though it covers things that have already verbally and in text have been adressed will establish a base from where to build on...It should be the definitive of version IMHO.

Keep it simple idiot proof and definitive where after watching it there are no if ands or buts left so we can move on to more complex matters and issues.

Or you could have it both high and low like two lines ruinning parallel instead of sequencial...One bit for the well versed dealing with stuff on their level and another bit for people who maybe havent had all the hands on experience yet to know the ins & outs of this beast.

Entertaining but focused.

Maybe different segments. Something with new gadgets. News. Gossip. Updates. Clearifications. Interviews.

Maybe some follow up material for down loading after a program could be good? Manuals, diagrams, complimentary links for your audience to reaserch between shows.

Look forward to seeing what you guys cook up!
