  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Really hoping build 16 resolves this issue.
When shooting 1/2 second shutter speeds with the timelapse menu set to 1 second intervals - The camera is only capturing EITHER one frame every 2 seconds OR 3 seconds. PLEASE assure me that Build 16 will allow me to shoot 1/2 second exposures at 2 frames per second - 1/3 second exposures at 3 frames per second etc.......

I hoping for more like 1-5 second exposures for each frame.

The best way to achieve timelapse sequences using 5 second intervals is still a 1Dmkiii - it was the shorter intervals that I was hoping RED would do better - (CF cards in even the fastest SLRS don't seem to like intervals over 1 second)

Shutter Speeds:

I need 1/6, 1/12 for 24P, 1/6.25, 1/12.5 for1/25 and so on for
30P to make blurr moving images as well. Even HDV can DO it ( JVC HD 100 in 2 years ago )

Timelapse:
Can we have a Calender display lik ewhat we have in our moilbe phone also with the day aand time countdown as well.

Build 16 can do it ???

I keep my fingers crossed and pray for the GOOD RED SUN.

Cheers,

Steve I've seen a lot of your timelapse work and I must say its amazing.

I have a Nikon D3 and D80 but I havn't really sat down and shot a proper timelapse sequence with them. Can you explain your workflow?

Are we T the RED User forum or D-Camera Forum ?

Canon / Nikon / Leica / SONY ?

I hope PV+Canon can blow RED away.....and it's a long way to go I guess.

The 1DsMk3 is an expensive camera, wouldn't it make more sense to use the RedOne rather than spending all that extra money?

The 1Ds Mark III can compete with 65mm cinema film and maybe IMAX. It will definitely blow Red One out of the water for most timelapse work. Red One will be good mainly for daylight work, because it offers a nice level of convenience similar to the HVX200 workflow, with the addition of RAW. Plus you can put $10,000 cinema lenses on it. :)

Red One might also be good for the type of shooting Steve is mentioning, with like 1/2-second shutters so you could transition from day to night, night to day, as long as the night scenes are fairly well lit by city lights or a full moon.
