All names entered in this thread to this point have been added to the list.

I guess it's time to make a decision on duplicate names though. It's going to be really hard to maintain a list of 5000+ cameras and not have duplicate names. Of course, not everyone will give a name to every camera, but there will be many. And many will not want to participate if they can't list their name just because someone else entered it first.

Thoughts?

I think duplicates are fine. I'm sure some of us have the same name so why cant our cameras.
IMHO, for just three reasons:

1) There are also registered (exclusive) names out there;

2) They might be protected labels;

3) They can mean an extra no-cost investment, particularly when associated to any production of reference, including as movie memorabilia. In benefit of the RED cult itself, as well. But especially, an add value for each RED adopter.

Yes, if the serial numbers cannot be duplicated why should the names be?

ID protected domain. A sort of.

I like the idea.

camera #1029 "gamera"

camera #1029 "gamera"

camera #1029 Gamera

we gave all our various cameras names this is the reds.

Good point. Anyone elses thoughts?

And something like:

"Spyke"
"Spyke the 2nd" or "Spyke 2"
"Spyke the 3rd" or "Spyke 3"

and so on...

What do you think, guys?
