Okay...before anything starts going bizarre, I want to say the following.

This thread isn't called "Christian Filmmaking" because some people felt that is just wrong.

I would like only people who are in the process of making or are aspiring to make a good film with a positive message, and family friendly such as Chronicles of Narnia, Facing the Giants, and The Passion to let us know what they are working on.

Thanks for your replies, and unless you will stay on topic, don't start any debates.

You couldnt respect the request of waiting a few days before starting up again could you...I think thats a sign of something...Open to interpretation for all.

While I don't think I'll be making any "Christian movies" anytime soon I find these threads interesting. I have a question for you guys making Christian films: Christianity has been at the center of a lot of great art, yes. But what do you make of the fact that the greatest Christian art is usually the kind that skirts with blasphemy? John Milton's Paradise Lost, John Donne's poetry and Caravaggio's paintings praise God but in a way that many found (and still find) "un-Christian" or even blasphemous. Remember the quote from William Blake, "Milton, like all poets, was of the Devil's party without knowing it?"

Why do you think that great Christian art always seems to contain this unsettling (to Christians) aspect. I don't think that either John Milton or John Donne were blashphemous, but there are definitely hints of it in their writings. Do you think that this is something that simply comes with the territory when one makes art. Art is open to interpretation and if you are making a groundbreaking religious artwork that pushes boundaries some people are going to interpret your work as blasphemous?

I'd really like to hear from you guys on this, and I hope that this thread can function better than the last one.

Should've waited a few days, Joseph.

Not that I completely understand why the old thread was locked, but...

It's their house.

I would actually propose to the modz to just re-open the old thread in 3-4 days.

5000 views, wow!

A bit unexpected...

Seems like it's a hot topic, after all.

It seems, though, rather more that Jared is saying that private messages connected to controversial threads and/or to controversial posters is monitored and...

trouble maker.. :)

Guys, I didn't want to discuss the 10 Commandments.

Christian filmmaking is just as much a part of movie making, as anything like 24.

I am not having this thread started to debate Christianity.

I have gotten to see other people's work produced for the 168 hour project, I have found out about an exciting filmmaking workshop planned (erwinbrothers.com/filmschool) something I have been looking for for quite a while.

I am not being religious, by asking about other people's projects that have an uplifting message. It is just another genre.

Again, if you do not wish to encourage, or let me know about a project with a positive message, please do not join in.

Thanks again for your respect.

Joseph,

I appreciate your enthusiasm for filmmaking. But what part of Jeff's suggestion to "wait a few days" was unclear to you? :)

Please let this subject rest for awhile before starting it up again.

Best,

Lucas
