I have been on location wrapping up camera work for Vietnam's first "shot on RED" Feature Film project "14 days". Special thanks goes to Action Products and Element Technica for pulling through on some great accessories that have been crucial to the efficiency of my work on this shoot. The Actioncam flies like a dream and whats even more brilliant is the direct Element Technica dovetail compatibility. Switching from tripod to Actioncam is now so much easier and quicker.

Thanks Tonaci,

What dovetail is this, 1030 or 2060, I know Brian mentioned that he would try to make the actiomCam compatible with ET 2060 dovetail but I am not sure if this is already the case?

Since we will receive our actioncam at the end of the month, this is a very welcomed thread:)

Emmanuel,

its the 2060 dovetail. totally rockin =)

I have a full sized actioncam. it looks like you have the red edition...

on the full sized the power is all distributed through the dovetail. so in order to mount anything I have to use Brian's dovetail.

on you rig it looks like the power is fed through the post specifically for the the red. and you've used the 2060 dovetail. do you think that there is an issue mounting the 2060 to Brian's dovetail (which by all accounts is farely standard as doves go)? or is that where another model would come into play?

i also see the 2060 has spots for rods. why mount the bartech receiver and motor the way you did?

Hi there,

You are correct. I am using the Red Edition Actioncam. As for your dovetail question. I see no problem with it, though this question would be better answered by Brian.

The bartech receiver was mounted by using gaff tape and placing it on top of the battery was the most secure place for it. I have no bracket to attache the receiver any other way. This receiver would probably be a good candidate for the ugrip clamp. As for the motor, placement up top was chosen for convenience. Thanks to ET's 15mm top mounts, I am able to use the motor up top attached to a 15mm rod.
