christianfilmmakers.org is a great site.
At least one person over there has a Red.

Adding my name here.

Filmmakers who are Christians, and develop Christian Films.

or Christians, who are striving to be filmmakers and
develop films with a gospel message (subtle or obvious)
This is a good thread. :)

I have not purchased a RedOne, but have
been working on acquiring funds for it.

Earlier this year built a new NLE based around the
mac dual 2.8 quad, so additional funding coming.
Since the announcment of Scarlet ive decided it
would be better to order 3 "mini RedOnes" as
oppose to 1 RedOne.

This is my current site www.memoriescinema.com
of course I do alot of weddings at the moment , but
slowly I'm reorganizing to do more "serious work."

If scarlet ships jan 09 i want to use Scarlet to make
make a documentary feature on my church's history.
I plan to show it at AMC in their digital theater.

Also i have an idea concerning sex offenders and how
US law almost makes it impossible for them to live
decent lives. All offenders offenses were not on
the same level, yet they are all treat as the one
who committed the worst crime.

Hi Joseph,

We shot on a RED camera that we rented, but my own is supposed to arrive in June. I'm interested to hear what's going on with you.

If you have to summarize all Christianity into one fundamental idea and express it into one single sentence, what would that be?

Just one sentence, please... only if you want, of course.

Omega Point Theory.

Yes, Google it. Frank Tipler conceived this notion of Omega Point theory in his book "The Physics of Immortality,", wherein he mixed advanced quantum physics, computer science, functional analysis, and higher mathematics to explain religion and the concept of God in Physics. Tiper is professor mathematics at Tulane, and a highly controversial one because of his books. I think it was the publication Nature that called it "Masterpiece of Pseudoscience"

His books:

The Physics of Christianity,

The Physics of Immortality: Modern Cosmology, God and the Resurrection of the Dead

Immortality

That's a good start [regarding the principles].

I will google the omega theory tomorrow, cause I had a bit too much beer this evening and my brain doesn't work very well.

Too much beer - bad for me.

No beer - bad for me.

Gotta find the way of the beer.

Good night.

It can't quite be expressed in one sentence, but it is living your life as close as you can, realizing you are not perfect, and believing Jesus went though pain suffering and death as a result of OUR sin, and on the 3rd day, and finally rose from the dead. A long sentence!

You guys better watch out, or Mel Gibson is gonna show up and cause a scene...

Hey Tom, your idol Terrence Malick is a devout Christian as well. Maybe they'll both show up. :)

Hehe, there is no way to be sure about Malick. He is, after all, a follower of Heidegger and seems to covet a philosophy that borders sometimes on existentialism and a worship of natural, momentary beauty.

I often wonder about Terry's religious beliefs, but there is no way to be sure what he is thinking now. He hasn't given a real interview in 30 years!

Sure, I guess he could have switched religions in recent years but in absence of specific evidence to that effect, it's reasonable to surmise he's been a "devout Episcopalian" for most of his life.

Glad to see other christians here, though I'm voting for Obama, so that seems to make me sort of a heretic, hehehe.

I'm fleshing out a script that is bible based (tribulation, but not like 'Left Behind' series), is sure to upset a lot of christians, at least if I do it right.

btw, I'm one of those christians who thinks it's very important to pay people good wages, treat them with respect and consideration (regardless of their own beliefs), walk the walk....
So it takes longer to make the movie I want.
It's worth it to get pros both in front of and behind the camera.

Personally, I have great respect for some far east techings, such as Buddhism and Taoism, because they accept all the other possible "paths".

While, at the same time, "the big three" religions: Judaism and its offspings - Christianity and Islam - each claim that they're "the only one"... which isn't very convincing.

I wouldn't define myself as anything, actually. I try to keep my mind open to all the available stuff in "the spiritual marketplace".

But most of all, I try to listen to the mysterious whisper of my own heart... and that's the hardest part.
