Hello everyone.

Has anyone at NAB been able to compare JVC DT-V24L1DU vs. ECINEMA FX24 monitors?
Ecinema's price is higher (we're $3,499 vs. $4,995) but still similar price range ( below 5K ).
What is making me wonder is that the JVC is the top of the JVC line and FX24 is the "entry level" of eCinemasys line, and this sometimes makes the entry level worse, because often the ProPro market (dunno how to call it) has a worse price/value ratio on basic systems compared to Pro market ... often but not always.
Can anyone tell me is the price difference is worth it?

thanks!

I was very curious about this myself. I have been useing the Panasonic 26 before, but I am looking for something a little better picture quality and have been eyeing the JVC. I know there was a thread on this before but cant find it.

Tv logic may be the better option. The 24 inch model is about $6500 and with dual link 4:4:4 about $8500. It's probably the best for under $10k. I'm hoping to get one in for further evaluation.

i've searched all threads but i've found there positive comments about both monitors, that's why i feel the need of a comparison.
i know people at RED use eCinema i guess, wonder what they have to say about this one :)

RE: JVC vs ecinema...its hard to compare the two unless you had them both in the studio at the same time. From the limited time I had with the ecinema I would rate it higher, plus the JVC is mass produced vs ecinema is a very small company. I would assume the build quality is superior on the ecinema.

Caveat with the JVC monitor, if you plan on grading with a client in the room with you, you're going to want to buy two of them, because the off-axis viewing of that monitor is horrendous. They're fantastic monitors, otherwise. We have 3 of them in our facility, but we've found that they're less than ideal when you have a room full of people watching you grade.

Ditto. This is what I see. It's great for dead on operator viewing but off axis is inaccurate. Sitting here next to my Dell 2405 the JVC really puts the Dell to shame in all respects.

if you have a room full of people watching you grade you don't need a 24" monitor you need a projection room.
