  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hello All,

E-Film has asked me to help with putting a new RED test Real together. They want the best and freshest stuff. So if you want your stuff seen by the biggest names in hollywood here is you chance. Submission will be excepted from now
4-8-08 to 5-15.

You can submit as much footage as you want but it must be in 60 sec. clips. I have to be able to put it in a dvd player and press play with no hassles, but I would also like a quicktime, or avi clip in DV NTSC letter boxed, please make sure you have a watermark or something on these clips lower right hand corner.

This is a huge opportunity for exposure to the people that make a difference. Not only for you as an individual, but as Us as a community. So please send me all of it. I want to see you guys Europe, I want the Aussies, I wand the whole damn world. In the air under the water, time-lapse Slowmo, I fricken want it all.

you should allow people to pm you links with hosted high-quality 60-sec clips, and anything you like you can download and throw onto a dvd. asking people to snailmail you NTSC stuff is going to cut your entries by about 90%.

it's the digital age, my friend. ;)

Yes, Tom has a good point,But the guy who are spending 10's of thousands of dollars in cost in film stock and man hours to grade and scan develop and print the the reel, would like it to be on DVD. Also I know that you guys think I am at your beck and call 24/7 365 days a year, but this is not true.

Maybe I can set up a ftp so you can upload, but I do not see that happening in the next week. So Tom stop busting my balls :)

Make them a balance of quality and file-size no longer than 5min long, put an contact name in the file name. If you still want to send a dvd please do. but not necessary. I got an ear full at NAB I'm sorry that I didn't get it up sooner. forgive me

No I wasn't I clear as I could've been. It's just for preview. If they like it then it's 4k or 2k to film out.

I'm really looking to see the stuff from europe, all the stuff from around the world. From Dubai to Detroit, from Greenland to New Zealand, I want to spin the hits.

I can get allot stuff from LA, they want fresh images. I want to promote the worldwide reach of Red Digital Cinema. I mite not understand Bollywood movies, but India has some badass shooters.

Just don't kill me with bandwidth. and make it 1080 quicktime. As the ting fills up I'll pull stuff off. Again you need to watermark use quick title card with your name in the beginning. Contact info at the end.
 
Well, for preview they can use Vimeo or an ftp option.

With good compression and internet speed, they can even hand you a clip over Skype.

A lot of people laugh at me when I say them "give me a preview over Skype", or upload it there or there.

They think I'm some sort of computer geek , but the truth is I'm saving them 1-3 hours of their lives [and my own], in which they have to travel to my place and back.

If this is for me, unfortunately you're gonna have to wait for early'09 :).

I think you know why.

Then - I'd gladly send something. This sounds like a great opportunity. Is this for the RED One only, or maybe also for [future] Scarlet footage?

I hope I haven't annoyed you with my remarks, it's just that it's much easier now, with the Internet.

I very rarely get annoyed, I should have had the FTP up much sooner than I did. I'm just very busy at this point in my life.
 
I have a very short.. short :), which would depict the arrival of my Scarlet [~ 5 mins.].

If it turns out to be decent, I'll post here and\or on the future ScarletUser.

It will be in 2K.
