Does anyone know what is the least expensive, stable jib crane that will support the Red and has remote focus, pan, tilt, zoom, monitor, dolly and etc.

Please advise,

Has anyone used the VariZoom MC100? Might be a nice addition to my SevenJib.

Check out the Intelli-Jib. Very clever, solid design. I also really like the Porta-Jib Standard with extension set. Both quite nice. Industry Advanced (maker of the Intelli-Jib) also makes a remote head for it appropriately called the Intelli-head. For a remote head on the Porta-Jib, Jimmy Jib makes one for it. The Intelli-jib/head system is cleaner but I think the Porta-Jib/Jimmy Jib head system is less expensive.

I have the Intel-a-Jib, it is a great Jib. It a completely different class than the EZfx, Potajib, etc.

I have used it with a fully rigged 535, so it can handle any Red config you can throw at it. It is the most expensive of the lot, but well worth the extra dollars. 5 min set up and can be configured as a 6' or 10' jib.

for low price.. the Kessler Crane is a pretty good deal. The inteli stuff is pretty bad ass, ive used their illuminated stuff for years.

I have the Kessler Crane and it is fine for a smaller camera like the GL2. Jarred, do you think it can handle the weight of a Red? I'm thinking not, which is why I'm looking at a new jib, but can't make up my mind about which one. Love the telescopic Technojib, but it's 100K+, a bit much for my pockets.

There was a little film crew in our town recently and they were shooting in the park with a jib arm made by Miller. It looked well built to me. Looked like it was in the lower price range of such things. Oh yeah... it had an Arri SR on it.

Kessler handles Red fine even with Red Drive- but you need the struts and cable kit.

Rob, that post of mine is over two years old and since then I made the switch to the Intel-A-Jib. There is no comparison between the Kessler and the Intel-A-Jib, different leagues altogether. While the Kessler may handle a Red, it won't last in my opinion, just too much weight and stress. The Intel-A-Jib is built to work in a daily environment and is so much quicker in setup, it's no contest. If someone is wanting a piece of kit that will last, I would steer them towards the Intel-A-Jib every time.
