  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Zeiss Super Speeds

PM sent.

Here is the set

Nice lenses. So far as continuing to increase in value "for the next several years" that might be iffy. If the new RED primes are sharp and durable and the new Fujis and those commie pinko lenses are the same, that might affect the relative value of used optics. We'll see. I also see that a lot of RED cameras will end of with just zooms on them as they are improving all the time and lots of people don't need the faster stops.

New Fujis chuck? Please elaborate...

Hi Evin,

I'm out in the sticks right now so I don't have access to my computer files. I seem to remember seeing them here during the NAB week but it could have been elsewhere. Anyone else remember?

I love the Zeiss(ness). There does seem to be a current feeding frenzy with top glass right. Hope that will moderate. Chuck as you said, if RED glass fits the bill, the price point will help alot of people that can't afford the 'rich' glass.

I aspire to Zeiss(ness), just not today unfortunately. :) Good luck with the sale

I want to see the Fuji primes myself (not that I have a camera to put them on) but because Fuji Optical is the worlds largest manufacture of imaging optics. Some major brands of both video and still camera lenses are Fujinon (don't ask me which ones) products with different names on the outside. They know what they are up to.

I couldnt get a straight answer out of anyone at the booth, and they only had a few lenses hidden in a glass case. I seem to recall seeing primes and two zooms that were huge.

EDIT:
Here is a crappy iphone image from the Fujinon booth. Plaque says
HD Cine PL Mount

Hey Evin, thanks for the compliment I will forward that on to my Dad. We just opened a motion branch at my Father's studio. I go by Nicholas, he goes by Nick. I'm on the directing side of things, my Father is, for the moment still on the photography side. But I'm slowly trying to convert him to the motion side. =D

Even if Fuji and Red make some new lenses at a competitive price point, many people still need the T1.3 and that's the biggest advantage of this lens, fantastic clarity and contrast at a "super speed." And with so many red shooters desiring to shoot in available light, the extra money you spend investing in 1.3's pays itself off pretty quickly in setup time convenience and you don't need as many lights. Which reduces what you pay each time you rent lights.

I wish I could own these lenses. Just used them on a shoot & they were unbelievably awesome

Fuji made the one lens as a prototype to see what people thought. Don't hold your breath waiting for them to make a set of primes. Or Canon. Got that straight from the horse's mouth.

Still for sale?

Still for sale?

Are these lenses still for sale? I've sent a couple of emails.

Not sure what the edited posts mean.

Thanks.

Fujinon made the zoom as an experiment. They have no plans to make PL mount glass. The zoom in the case would be close to 80,000 if sold so it would be more than the optimo 12:1. That's not to say their plans might change, but that's as of NAB.

Nicolas, perhaps your dad needed that i for his work so he spelled your middle name Evan instead of Evin like most normal people

Seriously though, you found a full set of Speeds for sale and didn't contact me, I thought we were friends

Best of luck with the motion division.

Yes what is the idea? ARE THESE FOR SALE or is this another meaningless post?
