An alternative theory

An alternative theory

What if... Reverend Wright was preaching what his church wanted to hear? Not really leading them but figuring out which direction they were moving and then jumping in front of them to foster the appearance of leading. Everybody wants validation and if the amens get louder when you preach in one direction, then the offerings probably get larger... so maybe you find it prudent to stay on that tack.

This would have been done well before he ever thought one of his members might run for President. Otherwise he would have probably behaved differently and with better deportment.

But after the video from his sermons were released, he dutifully observed the rules and went silent.

Now imagine him getting a phone call at his place of seclusion, from Barack Obama.

"It seems this thing will not go away." Barack tells the Rev... "I need a favor."

Barack then outlines how he wants the Reverend Wright to "go forth and be outrageous." This, he explains will give him cover to denounce the Rev without drawing ire from his black constituency, and will give him creds with the white voters.

Of course, he probably has to offer the Reverend a juicy Ambassadorship should he (Obama) get elected.

So, watch our elections closely, you Euros. If this ploy is successful, it is just possible the Reverend Wright will be coming to an (American) embassy near you.

Disclaimer: this is conjecture and just because you heard it on the internet does not mean absolutely that it is true.

To all conspiracy theorist. I'm proud to announce the black helicopter with no markings, have been repainted in all the colors of the rainbow, to celebrate diversity.

I know you're just playing SIX. respect Bro.

Don't tear up that betting slip on Hillary just yet. You may yet be proved Wright... I mean, right.

Neither of them have a indisputable lead, going into the convention. If the Super Delegates give the nomination to Senator Clinton. It will fracture the party.

If they do that the Republicans will have empirical evidence, that not only are closet Communist, they are closet Stalinists. It plays right into Ann Coulter's strike zone just the way she likes it, and she gets a new book deal...

The statement about OBLITERATING Iran was kinda scary.

I remember the Soviet leaders using such words in their speeches.

What's wrong with Hillary?

This a valid concern, Iran is the linch pin in the middle east. It will have to be confronted or contained both courses of diplomacy will suck, no matter the plan of battle, or strategy of diplomatic sanction, survives first contact with your adversary.

I want the candidates to show their plan B. With Senator Obama, I want to know what happens when you talk to The Iranian President Face To Face, and he tells you, "Piss-off if I want to enrich uranium and build a bomb I will." Which is the very thing he has been saying from the start of his rise to power.

If Iran attacks anybody with anything that would certainly be the end of the world.

It will cause a chain reaction.

I hope they're not that stupid and\or crazy.

It was a very well timed pander to the blue collar conservative vote in PA. You can bet that came from her advisors. Have to give them cudos for the timing and effect.

Even with all the rucus, I'm still for Obama, but reserve the right to change my mind at any time.

Ahem,... well, I'm not too good with politics, but I guess I'll have to learn.

There's more politics in filmmaking than one would expect.

Why did the Chicken Cross the Road?

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......

DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on 'THIS' side of the road before it goes after the problem on the 'OTHER SIDE' of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he is acting by not taking on his 'CURRENT' problems before adding 'NEW' problems.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

ANDERSON COOPER - CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain. Alone.

JERRY FALWELL: Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth? That's why they call it the 'other side.' Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media white washes with seemingly harmless phrases like 'the other side.'

BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its life long dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2007, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never reboot.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with THAT chicken!!!! ........ What is your definition of chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?

AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? .......We need some black chickens!

Too funny Shawn ! LOL.

It's funny in a weird way, that if you change one particular letter in Obama's name... it becomes another well-known (bombastic) name.

Weird place the Universe is...

Otherwise, I like Obama [from an external spectator's POV].

And Obama's middle name is Hussein.

You all know I’m a little bit of a political junkie, and because of this site and this thread my political side has come out. Unfortunately these views have become part of the world wide record. Searchable and easily found, as it turns out. A friend who is a journalist search my screen name and the word politics on google. It and this thread is the number one link in the world.

I tend to keep my political point of view to myself. I find that there is kind of leftist McCarthyism that goes on in Hollywood. Being that I hold views that some on the left, would say are conservative. And some of my views would be considered very liberal, by those on the right. I am kind of a political enigma, which is strange considering I fairly sure that I am a good representation, of were the majority of Americans fall on the political scales. So I am faced with a choice.

Do I delete my posts, E-shredding in the Enron tradition, or do I embrace who I am and come out of the political closet. Stand tall and embrace my centrist self. All of you who know me, already know the answer.

So I have been reading the blogs this week. The Right and the Left have gone crazy over what appears to be, a shift in Senator Obama’s position on troop levels in Iraq. The Wing-nut right is screaming FLIP-FLOPPER, and the lunatic left is decrying betrayal. I find myself shaking my head, and asking the simple question. Has anyone been actually listening to what the man has been saying. Starting on Aug. 26th 2007, during the Democratic Primary debate. Tim Russert asked this question of all the candidates.

“MR. RUSSERT: Will you pledge that by January 2013, the end of your first term more than five years from now, there will be no U.S. troops in Iraq?”

Now this is gut check time for the Democratic candidates at a time when no clear winner could possibly be determined. A time were the far left of this country had the greatest influence, on who would be the Nominee. This Is Senator Obama’s answer.

“SENATOR OBAMA: I think it's hard to project four years from now, and I think it would be irresponsible. We don't know what contingency will be out there. What I can promise is that if there are still troops in Iraq when I take office, which it appears there may be unless we can get some of our Republican colleagues to change their mind and cut off funding without a timetable, if there's no timetable, then I will drastically reduce our presence there to the mission of protecting our embassy, protecting our civilians and making sure that we're carrying out counterterrorism activities there. I believe that we should have all our troops out by 2013, but I don't want to make promises not knowing what the situation's going to be three or four years out.”

Then he was interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, not a place were the Senator is going to get a series of softball questions. He further stated the same overall position.

WALLACE: I want to ask you about presidents and listening to generals. Petraeus, as I don't have to tell you, is the architect of the troop surge, a strong advocate of our continued engagement in Iraq.
If you become commander in chief, and he says your plan to get out of Iraq is a mistake, will you replace him?

OBAMA: I will listen to General Petraeus given the experience that he has accumulated over the last several years. It would be stupid of me to ignore what he has to say. But it is my job as president, it would be my job as commander in chief, to set the mission, to make the strategic decisions in light of the problems that we're having in Afghanistan, in light of the problems that we are having in Pakistan, the fact that Al Qaida is strengthening, as our national intelligence estimates have indicated, since 2001.

And so we've got a whole host of tasks. And I've also got to worry about the fact that the military has no strategic reserve right now. If we have an emergency in the Korean peninsula, if we had an emergency elsewhere in the world, we don't have the troops right now to deal with it.
And that's not my opinion, that's the...

WALLACE: So would you replace him or would you just say, "I'm the commander in chief, follow my order?"

OBAMA: What I would do is I would say — what I will do is say, "We have a new mission. It is my strategic assessment that we have to provide a time table to the Iraqi government. I want you to tell me how best to execute this new assignment, and I am happy to listen to the tactical considerations and any ideas you have, but what I will not do is to continue to let the Iraqi government off the hook and allow them to put our foreign policy on ice while they dither about making decisions about how they're going to cooperate with each other."

I can not see were he has been in consistent in his position. He isn’t going to pull anyone out of Iraq, in any meaningful measure. If you think he is, or ever was, you’re deluding yourself. This war is going to continue no matter who is elected. I my opinion it’s going to get bloodier. The infamous 16 words of President Bush’s 2003 State of the Union speech, pale in comparison, to the 12 words of Senator Obama’s speech to AIPAC’s Policy Conference on June 4th 2008.

“Let me be clear. Israel's security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable. The Palestinians need a state that is contiguous and cohesive, and that allows them to prosper – but any agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel's identity as a Jewish state, with secure, recognized and defensible borders. Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”

It doesn’t matter if it was cheap political pandering, or theatrics. It is now recruiting material for Hamas, Hezbolla, or any number of Islamic extremists. It doesn’t matter who we elect as the leader of the free world. The hate us not because of a policy, or a particular act.

They hate the West and true Muslims because we are a pluralist culture as a whole. Are way of life is considered a Cancer, that must be cut out. The reasons the Islamic Fascist give for the death and destruction they cause, are not reasons at all. There just warped rationalizations, and the Senator’s speech at AIPAC, just gave them a mother-load of new justifications for the killing of the innocent.

The hate us not because of a policy

Did you know in the 1920's America was the most popular country in the world among Arabs. Because our foreign policy at the time was to leave them alone.

Here's what the head analyst at the CIA's Bin Laden unit had to say about that:

"The only reason anyone listens to or follows bin Laden is because he points at specific foreign policies of the U.S. in order to maintain that he is the one fighting on the defensive. Michael Scheuer, the former head analyst at the CIA's bin Laden unit, and author of Imperial Hubris, told me this himself. He said that the Ayatollah Khomeini spent the 1980's railing against American culture and the entire region yawned. Osama bin Laden, on the other hand, kept his pitch straight and to the point – and it worked."

The CIA, the National Intelligence community and MANY, MANY insiders have authored books documenting the negative effect of our foreign policy very well.

Joel, who cares, it a blood feud now. They are not going to stop until they bring about there vision of a world ruled by sharia law, and under Islamic religious rule period. Live on your knees, or die on your feet what's your choice, because that's what it's come to. The longer it takes for you to realize it, the greater the price in life. From the day the assassination of Hitler failed, and the end of the war. 12 million people were killed, in the 10 months between those two events. Hitler had all sorts of justification and policy differences with the west, there were many in this country that said similar things as you have said, Charles Limburg leaps to mind. The point of no return has passed. A new nuclear arms race is about to begin, you probably don't remember living under the threat of nuclear war, but I do. You don't mind war as long as it's a cold one. Check your history that war had allot more casualties than this one.

Obviously by the undeniable progress in Iraq, the vast majority of Arabs and Curds like the Democracy they've created, and willing to die to preserve it. Not to mention, the fact Muslims all over the west live peacefully next to Jews, Christens, Buddhist, and Non-Believers.

Again Joel I just don't get this naive bubble you live in. I admire your passion, but I think most of your positions lack reason. I wish the world could be the place you hope for. It just has far to many people in it. The balance between altruism, and avarice is the constant battle of the human condition. Good and Evil exist.

No one owns a time machine, even if you did, it would not change a thing. The arab nationalist of the 30's, 40's through the sixties, in the form of the Baath Party, a political movement modeled after German National Socialism aka the NAZI's, has merged with religious fanaticism that makes the inquisition look like a Disney Cruise.

So you solution is to pull all of our troops out and turn a blind eye and a deaf ear, to the middle-east. Zero help to the Iraqis, zero help for the Israelis, and forget the Palestinians. Then we can use Joel's magic wand of reason and justice. This magical talisman can magically turn 240 million cars and trucks, into burning water instead of gas. So we don't have to be involved with the middle east in anyway, which would take the chief income source away from the region, causing even more poverty and despotism. If you not sure Joel I'll help you here, that was the same road that lead to WW2 and the needless deaths of over 100 million people.

But I'm sure your magic wand can fix all that too. Tuesday would be good day for me.
