"I hope the Moderators can help this forum remain a place for respectful postings. I also think the Moderators might need some help from the serious posters to minimize the new wave of noise that has hit this forum."

Jim Jannard

May I respectfully request that if you don't agree with Mr. Jannard that "'Scarlet' is one of those cameras that comes around every quarter century or so" that you keep your pessimism in check. Aren't your futile attempts to belittle those of us who believe that Scarlet will be an appropriate tool for our craft a waste of your creative energies?

There will be thousands of us who purchase Scarlets. Some of us will be an embarrassment to filmmakers everywhere, but some of us will create works of art that will last for generations. The same is true now of Red One and will be true for Epic as well.

Mr. Jannard states that "this camera represents a new category". Unfortunately there are many among us who would categorize Scarlet and its future users as inferior. To those who lack the imagination to believe in the possibilities that Scarlet will offer I can only ask that you keep your criticisms brief, informed and courteous. Is that too much to ask?

Methinks too. Didn't someone in another thread complain because they were hoping for a S35 sensor in a camera with interchangeable lenses for under 10K. In other words, they were disappointed because it wasn't a sub 10K Red One. LOL! No wonder Mr. Jannard left the building.

If people can afford to be snobs about Scarlet, more power to them. But it doesn't appear that they're setting the world on fire with their brilliant films either so maybe they should just - you know - STFU.

I don’t worry about what others are saying about Scarlet, ‘cause they aint giving me no money to buy mine! Whoever doesn’t have the talent won’t cut it with Scarlet or a $100,000.00 camera. It is that simple.
They can also request features or changes until they turn blue, but the fact is Red and Co. will do whatever they think is best for them. The same way Panasonic and others do.
The reality is stars will shine and others will burn. Scarlet or any other camera out there won’t give you an instant ticket to filmmaking stardom. You have to earn it.

Can we get over this already...

No one is complaining.. 99.999% of serious users wouldn't have scarlet any other way than what the designers have envisaged. (It wouldn't be functional any other way would it)
