We are about 1/4 of the way through the independent feature "Woodshop" all shooting on location in and around Boulder, Colorado. It's sort of a "Breakfast Club" meets "Superbad" about a bunch of high school kids forced to do Saturday detention in their shop class. I can only post some production stills but hope to have a trailer up in a few weeks, as well as an official crew list (there is some awesome talent here in Colorado). We will do the main block of principal in late March, but have been ramping-up into it. Should be getting through post in early Summer.

We are shooting with our two REDs (Han and Chewie) using RED and Cooke glass. Also using the new Action Cam steadicam extensively (note our patent-pending Steadi-dolly rig!). Thanks to all the guys at RED who have been supporting us directly (Sean, Deanan, Kevin, Kelly).

Stay tuned...

Hope to have stills/screen grabs soon...

Looks fun Paul. You guys are doing great things. We're all excited to see more

Action Cam is awesome! It is very solid and smooth and well-tuned. Our director is an operator and has had the thing on for hours on end with little fatigue. Very good system.

We are shooting to CF, mostly rolling both cameras. We have data station nearby to clone and QC the footage. Saved us with continuity issues now and then to be able to review on set.

Hope to have stills soon.

that last shot with the kino on left, is that taken with Red? what FL is that? looks really wide..

Dracul,
No, that last pic is with a Canon SLR.

Should have actual frames very soon.

OK, cat's out of the bag.

We've got Jesse Ventura playing the high school shop teacher. Also have some great supporting characters played by Don Davis and Mitch Pileggi in addition to a great cast of you actors.

Check out www.woodshopmovie.com for updated stills and such. We go into about 12 straight days later this week so there may be a lag in updating the site. Look us up on IMDB as well.

Sorry, no footage yet and a bunch of stills to come soon, but we are almost done with principal photography. Today we blew up a Toyota Prius (first in a film?) and had a third RED rolling thanks to Jon Firestone, as well as a cameo by a Denver Bronco in addition to Ventura and Pileggi (both AWSOME to work with). Great young cast and local crew prove that Colorado is a great place to work.

Everything has gone very well and we should be in post through April. Stay tuned for lots of footage, behind the scenes, and other silly things.

OK, we are literally one scene away from completing all shooting. This has been an awesome experience, and thanks to all at RED!

Our site has updated production stills and more information, including shots of Jesse Venture making his first film appearance in 10 years!. Click on "Press"

I promise we will start to share some frames soon!

WOODSHOP wrapped!!!

WOODSHOP wrapped!!!

An open letter to RED (also posted on reduser):

Just wanted to let you guys know we have officially wrapped production on "Woodshop" here in Colorado, every frame shot in 4K with RED ONE. There will be additional publicity in the weeks to come (Jesse Ventura has already mentioned us on Larry King). Two cameras rolling almost all the time, many terrabytes of 4K shot, and a VERY happy director and crew! RED was nearly flawless and we would not have been able to produce this film within this budget and schedule any other way. The team at RED has been an absolute delight to work with and the RED ONE has really spoken for itself as the most wonderfully-disruptive technology a bunch of crazy guys in Boulder, Colorado could hope for!

On the eve of NAB '08, we at 42 Productions would like to say thank for your incredibly hard work and we look forward to new products and the continued development of the RED ONE. We believed in you guys two years ago (when you were a scam, right?) and we believe in you even more while looking at the truly amazing footage in our edit bay.

THANK YOU RED!

Congrats on getting it finished!
I can't wait to see how it looks.

Is 42 producing its own movies now? That's great!
Wish I was more in touch with the community and working, but it's still great to see good things being produced in my (our) backyard.

cheers
-liam
