One folder in a set of R3D folders that were recorded to the RED drive is missing the 2K and below proxies that I've been editing in FCP. Creating QT proxies in REDAlert doesn't include the audio. What do I do to get the audio back???

You can extract the audio from the _F reference file using compressor (drop the file onto compressor, choose the AIFF 48:24 audio preset, submit job). That will get you your audio clip. Then merge your newly created _H video and audio clips in FCP (select both in the bin, then choose merge clips under the Modify menu).

Or you can add the audio back into the _H file using the QuickTime player. I've not done it before, but I believe you just open the audio file in QT, select all, choose copy, then open the _H file and choose Add.

John- the Compressor trick didn't work. It gave me "error trying to open source media file"

The log and transfer is currently working. A question... what is the codec that is used to make the QT? Answer: ProRes422(HQ)

Personal Note: The log and transfer definitely saved me, but what are the benefits outside of an incident like this of using the utility in the workflow. Your creating HUGE secondary files.
