  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Tangent Wave

Just FYI

I was on a seminar with the dude writing the manual, Alex... something, and he demonstrated that when Color is in DI mode, (which I haven't used yet...) you can add dissolves within color.

This is when you Don't go back to FCS, and I haven't really checked it up...

Just curious because many of the bigger broadcasters/film out house (yup, this is really a small country...) have thrown out DaVincis and Pablos (or whatever...) for Color the last year, and they do realtime 2k dpx for filmouts or TV series with it. Very contrary - trendwise - to what I hear and read all over the boards.

Hi Gunleik,

IMO, if someone have thrown out their da vinci & Pablo for Color, there are only 2 explanation for that:
1. They don't have any idea what is da vinci & Pablo.
2. They need money to run their business so they sold their da vinci & Pablo, and buy FCS2

IMO again, there's no way that Color can replace what da vinci can do.
You even can't compare Color with da vinci/Pablo.
It's 2 different things, Software-based & Hardware-based.

The new da vinci Resolve machine (R300) can handle 20 layers 4K DPX in REALTIME (demoed at NAB 2008).
And you wanna compare that with COLOR???

Back to topic:
Is Wave support for SpeedGrade?

Hi. I'm not trying to compare them, I'm just curious why people actually do this. Two different things entirely. Your answers may explain it remotely. :)

I do think these quite substantial institutions with their long time colorists would find your statement a bit offencive, though :)
(even though I din't care)

Could very well be exactly the hardware vs software thingy which is putting people off...

Cheers
