Guys..just shot some 113fps footage today and on some of the clips redcine latest build shows blue frames...what does this mean and how can I fix it ?

thanks for help. and please don't tell me that it means dropped frames!

If this build is dropping frames and showing on some tiny readout please:

RED YOU NEED TO MAKE THE CAMERA'S ENTIRE LCD SCREEN FLASH A RED X WITH LARGE RED LETTERS THAT SAY "DROPPED FRAMES!"

sorry to rant and scream, but this could mean a Job lost and a new hater of RED on a professional shoot.

a way to save this footage? or is it indeed dropped frames on record?

Obin,

I'm afraid it's dropped frames. I had this happen about 2 weeks ago and sent in a support ticket. I was told that it is dropped frames and that to play it safe when shooting high frame rates to CF, you should not go above 110fps, even though the camera will let you do 113fps.

as I thought...well it would NOT be an issue IF it had a HUGE red X on the screen every time it dropped today on the shoot...

see the huge problem is I was using the waveform for exposure so even if I looked I could not see the tiny warning!! all I could see was the live image and waveform!!

Blue Frames

Blue Frames

If the camera drops a frame its designed to tell you that, so its an assumption that its a dropped frame issue. Could be an error induced in data transfer or possibly in the post software. Either way we'd like to track it down.

Do you have an example .R3D file that does this? If so please send it to RED support. Or you can PM me and we can discuss how to identify what may be going on.

cool deal I will pm you Monday and send you the files that show blue frames in redcine
