Was it shown at NAB? Anyone see it in action?

Motors were there. No Impero controller. So no action.

I saw the FF working while I was there and was so impressed by it that I ordered it on the spot...kind of like an impulse buy (that I won't regret later). I wasn't planning to get this product (I already have an Arri FF4). This is a great piece of kit that is very well made and reasonably priced. The focus controller felt great and is programmable. And the motors were constructed solidly but not too heavy. The motor comes with 4 pitch gears! Very cool product. I look forward to its arrival.

I got a FF set too after talking to the VB brothers. they know there stuff
and are as commited to bringing high quality stuff to people at affordable prices as Red is.

What did it cost for the kit?

Motors are nice, smooth and quiet. Very well built and the on off origo button is a must for everyone. Great products, great price, fantastic value.

Grrr... On tuesday afternoon when I was there, they didn't have the Impero controller or receiver and no way to drive the motors. So if you guys got to see them that's great. Wish I had. Either way, I was seriously impressed with everything I saw at the ViewFactor booth.

It was love at first site for me - got to try out the whole unit, worked amazingly, was just a prototype, whipped out my wallet and paid for the FF system off the ViewFactor laptop right there. The action was more precise than most manual FF units I tested at NAB.

This comment alone makes me want to whip out my CC! Do you think people can avoid using FF4 totally and use a VF FF?

I'm just clearing some room on the VISA now to pay for this!!

Thanks for the price, Brandon -- definitely affordable.

Anybody know who might have one on display in LA?

That's my intention - the assumed risk is that if connectivity/electronics break down, you're without FF...

Why not get two at the price!!

Thats why I am getting a traditional FF chroziel or zacuto or RR, to have as
backup and to bridge the gap from now untill the end of may when they ship

All I can say is you guys are helping us make a much better product by all the positive feedback. We look forward to getting these things out as fast a possible without compromising quality

The View Factor digital follow focus and motor are very possibly the ideal focus unit, motorized or not, at a price that puts the competition to shame. That's just as big a revolution as the RED ONE! I'm definitely planing on getting one.

And a $500 RR follow focus in case the electronics die. ;)

The RRM follow focus really would be a good backup. However, I am wondering if there is some way without buying the universal mount, 15mm adapter, and more rods to mount it. Would it be possible to just mount it on the universal mount? There looks to be a bolt/knob on the bottom of the FF that looks like you could mount it that way and skip the 15mm rods. I would highly consider this since it would only cost around $650 for the FF then.
