I've seen the original picture.....
If we are here to bust some myths, We can stop the speculation right now:)

But the original message is true.

If I was Jim, I would be in pain right about now.
I believe that that his intentions are to create something bigger then just pay checks at the end of the month.

With that in mind, it must be frustrating as hell to have to read about what everybody want's all the time. He has his own vision, and will in most cases base his choices on what he feels is the right choice to make at that particular time and place. Having been in a similar position as his although in a much smaller scale. I don't know if I would handle it as well as he does. There are times when I read posts and just go "It's amazing they keep reduser online".

That sort tolerance sometimes strikes me as unbelievable. Almost like the RED RAY, (Your never going to pull that sXXt off :P)

I know I can be a hassle sometimes, and for that, I would like to apologise. I reacted to my first feelings yesterday.
Today I feel their latest choices are the right ones. The ones that matters anyway...

Thanks Jim and the very well deserved team under your supervision..

To me, the problem is not people criticizing features or requesting different specs (that's what this site is for in many ways), it's the people running around acting like the sky is falling because new models and specs are coming out. They act like Jim is going to throw them under the bus, when he has a clear history of keeping his loyal customers well taken care of, even at his own financial loss.

Jim ... has a clear history of keeping his loyal customers well taken care of, even at his own financial loss.

I feel bad for Jim sometimes about that. I don't want RED to lose money just because some people bitch and moan about every little thing. That is why I'm not going to send in any of my matte finish accessories for replacement. Well, maybe just that one top mount that is cracked....

tell me the instances of financial loss.

tell me the instances of financial loss.

Here's one: people complained about the matte finish on some of the cast accessories. Now you can send back those accessories for the new ones (with the new finish). I'm sure this will be a financial loss....

How about a future one - the trade in being offered on RED One's for those wanting to move up to Epic?
When was the last time you heard of a company giving customers a full refund on gear when a newer camera came out?

This isn't something that is industry standard, expected, or required in any way - but it benefits the customers, keeps everyone happy, and makes good business sense.
