The Red One has a Mysterium sensor, while the Scarlet and Epic will have a "Mysterium X."

Are there any differences in performance?

No speculation, please. Quotes of, or direct replies by, the Red team only, please.

There will be some kind of upgrade path for getting a new sensor in your RED ONE. (Not sure about the details; may be higher frame rates but still 4k.)


I've been reading this board for 12 hours now; sorry, i don't remember exactly where this info came from anymore, but I'm pretty confident it's official and confirmed.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
 
Does this new sensor improve on the rolling shutter issues?
 
All that's immediately clear is that it's a next generation. Clearly if it features in the EPIC and SCARLET (both of which have different physical size) it is a family/range of sensors rather than a specific chip.

According to the RED NAB brochure, both the RED ONE and RED EPIC feature 'Full Frame' so it's not necessarily any bigger.
 
It's not bigger.

Still super35mm. Same size as the red one.

I think the point is that it's still in development. They'll have a design goal but it won't be until they really start squeezing everything out of it that there'll be any final details. And even then, as we've seen with the Mysterium, there may be a lot of scope for further improvements with firmware.
