  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB: Cooke 20-60

Same here. Thanks for the thread.

And here I am about to put ours up for sale. Send me a PM guys and we'll talk on Monday.

This is a little bit confusing over here. Several members posting altogether. I don't know who is the member but as far as I know there's someone who bought one for 3000 bucks.

Stephen Williams bought one, I believe, two years ago for $3k on ebay. I know they cost a little more now, but shouldn't be terribly more as zoom prices haven't gone up like prime's have. I am betting that when the RED primes and 18-85 come out, that lens prices are going to drop again--that is if they are as good as RED is claiming.

Matthew

Stephen stoled that lens for 3k. Even though it had misleading footage and aperture scales on it, ( I had modified it to cover 65mm but he bought it in the 35mm configuration) it was hand picked with a couple of other ones from a batch of brand new ones from Cooke. One thing I will say about Cooke quality control is that there was basically no difference (not that you could ever see on the screen) between the six 20-60's and the six 18-100's I had to choose from. Tough act to beat.

You mean that the image quality between the 20-60 and the 18-100's you were looking at were no different? That's pretty good to hear! After playing with a Agnux 25-250 and feeling that the quality wasn't bad at all, I can't wait to see the 20-60 in action.

Matthew

What he means is that from one 20-60 to another there was virtually no difference. The same cannot be said for other lenses of that era.

I did. Sorry, was out sick. Several people have contacted me and I will get back to all of you.

I wouldn't count on it. I recently sold my 20-60 for $9K and that was definitely at the bottom end of market prices.

$9K Martin?!?!?!? Crikey, I say that because I remember how much you bought it for, wish the one I'd been trying to buy had happened now!

Paul

I know. The market seems crazy... until you look at what you would have to pay to get an equivalent new lens.

M

I wish I'd known that before I sold ours for $4K!

Ouch! Sorry Mitch. I am sure you made someone very happy though.
