this was shot in a very cold refrigerator (8 degrees F) with the V 1.0 camera.

enjoy

it is playing a lot on FOX Sports West.

Lol, another instant classic. I still cannot believe the ad firm got wienerschnitzel to agree to the slogan "The most wanted weiner in the world." Hahahaah.

RED is going to kill in the commercials market. It's perfect for it... even if they are internet only commercials/spots - and those will explode in the next few years. Probably the biggest opportunity to make money with a camera.

these are broadcast spots and internet spots too.

I have to agree with this. RED is perfect for commercial shoots, especially once the workflow becomes second-nature to everyone. It's a lot easier (and cheaper) than trying to deal with an F23 or Viper or Dalsa for whatever.

Hi Tom,

I was at a facilities house last week, they budgeted RED v Viper. Red was 10% cheaper for the shoot, however the HDCAM SR was an easier and in their opinion cheaper post workflow. Bear in mind you don't need a data expert on set when recording filmstream to HDCAM SR.

Every DP or cinematographer can fast and easy become a RED data expert.

Don't forget one important thing,

RED is always CHEAPER.

Hi,

As the DP is the most expensive member of the camera crew by a long way, it's a waste of his valuable use of his time IMO. Much cheaper to hire a DIT.

With the prices quoted for RED rentals, unfortunately that is not the case, the revolutionary pricing model has not been passed on. Possibly GREED!

Well, let's also keep in mind that a random Joe can actually OWN a Red for not too much money and master the workflow fairly easily. I don't know too many of my buddies who have Vipers or F23s sitting around at home, but a lot of my buddies own and shoot on Red now.

I cannot imagine that post on RED is more difficult than Viper footage. Is HDCAM SR really easier to post than RED? I guess it's much more common. An average Tom, Dick or Harry can post RED footage on their PC or Mac pretty easily, without any decks or special equipment, and with data rates that are quite manageable because the footage is already compressed with supreme efficiency. RED's workflow and post aren't all that much different from, say, an HVX200.
