  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Well ... if you are familiar with the previous products - Proximity Artbox Workgroup and Artbox Enterprise ... and you take FCS for a drive ... maybe you will understand what they have been up to for a year.

I am not sure what's more fun - finding Nazi Gold or NAB 2008 - that's a close call -

Final Cut Server is fully scriptable and customizable -

We are still building an injest/on-set data-base application - and it will be a Red "front end" to FCS.

OBVIOUSLY Apple will add direct R3D support themselves as well.
 
:biggrin: huh, my nazi gold story is big fun... and thrill! I actually feel like becoming a part of one of those Henning Mankell novels... Thanks for the info! Sounds good for archiving. BTW did you ever get my e-mail (sent on march 10th)?

I hope it has an SDK, because Final Cut Server doesn't list Cineon or DPX as supported file formats. In fact it doesn't even list EXR or SGI-RGB which is supported natively in OS X.

Being Quicktime centric has it's pluses, but not everyone works in Quicktime.

I think Final Cut Server should just support everything Final Cut Studio and OS X supports natively.

Everyone who works in Final Cut (Apple's primary "Pro" application and the central point of reference for everything Apple does regarding manipulation of media) does.

No matter how they might guise it, Final Cut Server is designed to facilitate working with Final Cut and other Apple products. If it helps those who are using other software, well, that's very nice. But it's not its primary purpose.
 
All I know is that we've had many FCP editors bitch at us for providing TGA sequences of motion graphics... I don't have the user manual here, but I'll check it out next week.

Final Cut 5.0??? That brings back memories ....

You REALLY want to be on FCP 6.0.2 or higher -
