Hello All,

I just wanted to say how joyful I feel now being able to batch render out of RED Alert using Apple's QMaster. We were able to render to three different machines and thread all 24 cores in all the machines. Hooray! Exclaims me.

Now with that, I am now investigating the mysterious nature of it not rendering all the frames? Out of the 7000 test frames, it decided to only render about 3500 or so?

Any thoughts? A batch render is only useful if it indeed takes the true in and out points set in RED Alert.

Thanks to the RED guys for making this happen. Looking forward to the fixes for some of these bugs.

Send me an email with as many details as possible about your setup and the qmaster logs if you have.

Hey Deanan,

Good news is that when I use Qmaster without distributing the processing to other machines I get the correct frame count.

I will work on getting you an email with that info soon. We are gearing up for the next feature and I was just excited that the process worked in a simple fashion.

Any word on when the audio will be maintained through the QT proxy re-create?

Thank

I am running into this very same problem - Redline not consistently rendering all frames. Any resolution to this problem?

I ran into this problem, and it turned out the out was set to a specific number, so all the files that were output after that also had the same out point. Not sure if this is what is happening, but by simple deleting the -e 1200 command, and the -s 0 command it then rendered all the frames in the .R3D file.
