  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Rendering everything in the library not just the timeline?

Chaps,

I'm importing multiple reels (CF cards) into Redcine to do an overnight render to 1080 prores. What I'd like to know is is there is a way to make all the clips part of the timeline so that when I hit render they all render.

At the moment they default to stacking in the library and when I hit render it will only render the bottom shots in the stack. I am currently manually dragging all of the shots (around a hundred or so) out in the library to the bottom line so that they are all part of the timeline and thus get rendered. Very slow and tiresome!

Any help greatly appreciated!

Go to project -> library
next to "load all" set depth to "1"
select "load all"
navigate to CF card at card's root level -> select.
Voila.

My question is, once you've got the timeline loaded and want to export it how do you force them to come out as individual movies instead of one huge file?

Under Output settings there is a tab above format. Click it and select separate folders.

Can you guys check this - the dialogue box for separate folders disappears when I change to ProRes output. That's probably why I missed it before.

Once again, this whole thread could have been avoided with instructions.

Okay, now I'm having the "render out as one giant QT" problem. I checked separate folders and yet the 82 clips come out as one QT. Is 82 too many shots to load at once?

I've tried loading all from the folder, I've tried manually doing each shot one at a time... I can't figure this out. Anyone?

Thanks for the tips guys.

Regarding the single quicktie problem I've foundit's not the separate folders button but the file names button next to it that will keep them separate with their own names.

Yeah, but that option is not available for me either as soon as I switch to ProRes. Sounds like Kowboy has the same issue. Can you check your version to see what it's doing?

thx.

I'm at a loss. It seems that after responding to this post I'm having the huge QT problem and can't figure it out.

I copy a CF card/hard drive to my hard drive. Import into RedCine. Then when I output, I have done the following, all resulting in HUGE QTs.

Checked Separate Folders. Checked Input File Name. Checked all. No matter what I do, I end up with GiantQT.

Not that this thread has anything to do with this problem, but it worked fine before and now...

Anyone else out there? Any suggestions? Red Team?

Edit: I'm exporting out as Quicktime, 1080HD.
