First off I am not sure if I am in right thread but I apologize in advance.

I got hired today to work for this independent studio stage out here in Studio City, CA and the owner was showing me around when we came across the "junk room." He tells me I probably have some high end equipment in here but I don't know whats it worth cause I can't use any of it. So he was showing me these 5 Lenses.

I took pictures with my iphone, I know they are awful I am going back tomorrow and bringing my digital camera but lets just say they are in excellent condition. No scratches on the front and rear elements.

So this first one here is like the size my body its huge!

From what I know its a Canon f2.3-16, 15mm-610mm

Okay the 2 on the left are canon lenses with zoom control and the one on the right is a Nikon with zoom control. If I remember correctly the Nikon was like a 12mm-?? and it could open up to a f1.7

And here is the 5 lens, Nikon

Can anyone share some knowledge on these? I am sure they are still worth something, is glass the salvageable? Thank you.

I will post more information and better pictures tomorrow around 11:30 PST.

Thats all broadcast lenses. The Canons are studio lenses with 2/3" B4 Mount. The others are ENG/EFP lenses with the same mount as I can see it on the pictures.

All for HDTV cameras.

Hope that helps

Cheers

How much would these lenses run for?

I have no idea on that since in my country so far is no need for HD broadcast lenses. Best way in my opinion would be to ask around at OB Van companies or broadcast studios what they would pay for them.

Cheers

Okay, thanks. I'll keep looking around.

If you were to put a broadcast lens on the RED how much of the sensor would it cover?

First of all you would need the PL to B4 Adaptor which is pretty hefty in price and it only makes sense if you can record in 1080 because I'm not quite sure if 2/3" lenses work properly in 2K.

Ask the owner for an offer....maybe we are interested in the ENG lenses for our F900R's and VariCams.

Perhaps we can deal something out.

Alright tomorrow I will call up some of our local camera houses and see what they say.

Those are pretty nice HD ENG lenses. The first is a huge zoom meant for sports and what not. The others are regular zooms with a 2x extenders. I would say each lens is worth a minimum of $10k. Good HD glass starts at $20k and the really good glass is closer to $40k-$60k.

Hey Michael -

Say Hi to Tommy for me!

I think I'll be in there Monday

Okay I will! I am really excited to work him. Its so weird Tommy and his mom have know me since I was a little baby.

However, they are really old.

However, they are really old. Nikon stopped making video lenses in the mid 90s. Those are probably lenses from the days of 1125/60 analog HD which was never implemented in the US for television so never caught on much.
