Howdy,
More spring cleaning. I have two Lomo zooms that were part of my experiments in purchasing Russian glass. One is from '91, and is all fucked up. Focus ring spins and spins, has a broken element in the rear group, and a dent (small dent) on the front housing. The front element and all but the cracked elements are crisp and clear, the housing is clean.
Busted up lens #2 - focus and zoom work, it has a PL mount, feels lumpy, needs to be cleaned and lubed at least. I don't have a Red at the moment, but I put my PL directors finder on it, and it won't focus when you are full wide - the back focus is funky. It does focus when you zoom in a bit.
Both lenses are optically and mechanically identical (as identical as stuff the Russians made can be). they are 20-120, internal focus, f-2.5 (t-3.4 I think).
They are pretty well made. I had another one that I took apart to check out. I get the feeling they may have been "inspired" by the Cooke 20-100.
My original plan was to send both of them off and make one frankenlense, but then the accountant called and said "spend money before tax time" so I bought two Cookes.
It's a Lens scratch off ticket, may be a pile of paper wieghts, may be you send them off to a lens tech and you get a great affordable lens. They do look cool sitting on your desk.
$500 plus shipping takes them both.
