BREAKING NEWS: Schneider stocks 1.5 and 1.8 ND filters!

Our poll didn't miss its target.

Schneider optics just informed me that by Monday or Tuesday you will be able to order 1.5 and 1.8 ND's with a stock code in 4x4, 4x5.6 and 6.6 x 6.6. Delivery about 6 weeks to start. Higher densities will take a little longer.

Let's thank them for their effort by ordering some Schneider ND glass next week:

Yeah - I had a group buy thread going to see what people wanted in the way of ND's from Schneider. It disappeared. There was a pretty positive response but a little variability in what people wanted.

Some people wanted one heavy ND and then a .6 and .9 to go with it so they could stack. I'm sorta leaning towards a set of heavy filters so I don't have to stack. I'm going to go outside tomorrow with my light meter and figure out what range I'll probably need.

Also, some people wanted ND grads and polarizers.

I had originally thought of bulk buying the same kit of three or four filters for everyone but I'm going to find out if it's possible to do custom orders and still get a group buy deal.

i ordered both last december ...
i received the 1.8 in mid Jan (also received .3 .6 .9. 1.2 ) ...
the 1.5 is still on Back order ( i assume as i have not received it)

Spoke to the head of EU sales at the BSC show a couple of weeks ago, and he told me that they would announce combined 1.5 / 1.8 ND and IR-cut filters at NAB.

So watch the skies...

...and maybe hang fire on buying heavy NDs until then!
