What about the Ownership issue ? Can the Ownerership transfer done@RED office ? It's time for JJ to make ait clear to all RED ones holders .

At last it seems I might have resolved some issues and now only selling one camera RED #852.

I truly hope that this works out well, as in this sale both I and the buyer have a win win situation.

We are in the same situation, we can buy a 8XX for a good price, not waiting for our 23XX, but we are really scared about the procedere.
warrenty ( I know inspection 500 US including 3 month) but also official transfering the ownershipby red including future status
It seemed also that if you transfer the ownership the 2500 bennetfit from the first orders make problem.
At the other side the offeres we got means the people want to have money in advance. so this means you have to transfer more than 20 k$ plus other parts you want to order (no priority eg for the ELV) to somebody you really dont know.
The really normal deal whould be, the owner OWN what he want to sell and the buyer pay cash for delivery.

So I ask, is there anybody who really go through this issue???
At the moment I find no good solution because most offer we got the people have no money to buy out from RED and we consider to wait till summer for our delivery and rent for two weeks for our current shooting in April.
 
This are all issues that many already have overcome, and at the end of the day it comes down to the trust that the seller gives out to the buyer.

As for my Ex#852 now in the final stage of the deal, it has come down to several communications with the buyer till a mutual trust was reached, I have to say that I have been selling quiet a bit of stuff in the past year, and that has helped gain the trust in this community, which have spoken in my favor with great recomandations to which I'm very thankful, as I know this deal could not have happened other wise.


As far as the original $2,500 RED rebate, it will be respected no matter what, and as far as my sale I included the discount to the benefit of the buyer.

If anyone is considering buying a RED from a reservation holder, please consider Ketch. The only reason I did not purchase from him - And it is the ONLY reason - is I found a seller in my price range.

Ketch was super honest, detailed and up front in all regards.

Only to make it clear.
in my posting I metioned the principle.
It was not a question about ketch. From all what i hear he is a trustable man.
But I estimate from my PM that there will be several Red´s from the less 1000 SN which will be offer to sell during next weeks.
I am really happy for ketch and that he sold his cam, but of cause I am also glad that the situation about Red became more reasonable (renting and quick buying) after 1000 Red´s are in feeld by the next weeks.

I have three,

#349, #851 & 852.

Originally I was selling two of them, but then I realized that it would have been wryly hard to make a movie with just one camera, even a low budget one, and was also more clear to me when Paolo pointed out to me, so only #852 is in the final stages of been sold, as posted in post#1.

But everything can change, as no money has change hands as yet, and one of the Exec. is trying to convince me not to sale any.

Will se what happens.

Sorry to hear this.
But like to tell you my experiance as an potential buyer ( not from you).
We have an production by 22th of this month.
So the last 3 weeks I dealed with several " Number owners" to shortcut the line
But and thats the point nobody can gurantee me that I get the Red when I need it.
So and thats the points on the deals byside of trusting each other and warrenty.
If you have a shoting you are only willing to pay more price if you get safty.
My consequence now is I have to rent.
BUT If you have no clear shooting for what pay several thousends more simple to play 3 month earlier, than best way is to wait for the own number.
I always can repeat and repeat.
People who are on the batch, borrow the money or do anything to deal with a real thing. I am sure it need s one week and your red is sold and you have a profit of at least several thousends.
Latest in Summer the time of deals are gone

Peter is Chinese. He uses a computer to translate Chinese to English.
What Peter said is:
"The current waiting period for getting a new RED is only 3 months. Why pay more money if one can wait 3 months. By summer the REDs would be freely available, you won't be able to sell it for a profit."
