Charger sometimes not charging batteries

I am getting the same problem every now and then with the charger. I put in the batteries, leave them to charge and when I come back a couple of hours later to find that nothing happened and the light of one battery is steady red. Taking it off and re-attaching the battery fixes the problem.

In the manual it says nothing but 'battery failure', which doesn't make sense if all you have to do is try again. This is very annoying because I already experienced this on a shoot and nearly ran out of batteries because of this.

Anybody had the same?

Hi Sander,

Sometimes the batteries don't seat properly in the mount, if done casually. It's not a big deal. I've found that by paying close attention when mounting the batteries...... seems to work.

Did, or do you wait a few seconds after mounting batteries on the charger to see if the light comes on before leaving the room or going to bed?

Hey Sam,

No, I didn't wait until the light came up. Just snapped the battery in place and left it that way, assuming that if you hear a click sound it should be okay. Next time I'll pay attention. It is just odd that if you have 2 batteries installed they both don't charge when one light is red and 'battery failure' is not very informative either.

Could happen, if the battery were discharched until the very end, then they need a second chance to work properly. Had this problem with other brands as well. So I never discharge them to the very end, that should help.

You see this with PAG chargers and Dolly Packs as well. Sometimes charging just doesn't kick in. You have to stay and wait for the charging lights to come on. If they don't, mount it again

Battery charger failing problem

So, have a similar issue with my battery charger. One side has problems. I get a yellow and red blinking light on one side. The charger on that side charges the battery only SOME of the time. I'd say it's 50/50 chance. But when it's blinking yellow and red or is it yellow and green--i can't recall at this moment. But, if I move the battery to the other side it charges fine. So I assume the battery is ok, but one side of the charger has problems on my setup.

....Guess I have to send it back??
