Thanks Elcurado for listing my picts, I think, there are a lot of reasons, why quality gets better and better. One of the main could be, that the traditional film camera people waited longer to jump in, because they couldn't believe, that RED will be an alternative to the classic film tools. Or some waited until they had a project to show to others which is worse to show. And of course RED gets better and better every day. I always felt, that RED could beat the traditional film tools one day. And by the way: The best camera, is the camera which you have under your pillow, which you don't have to rent and loosing your time, when things happens around you ;-)

I have also been amazed at the results lately, and can´t wait to get my camera. In the beginning I had afeeling, that although the images were stunning, people were kind of struggling to get them. Now it seems to be coming more lightly. I don´t know if its just because many "pros" were observing from behind the scene... It could also be, that the camera simply has its own learning curve?

Great projects and Talent for sure... but the underlying theme is having a budget (yes the converse is true as well but that is another subject).

No matter what camera system you use it still takes money to bring abstract ideas to life. Great concepts, talented filmmakers, a good budget and a Red makes for beautiful results. The proof is in this thread.

But we have also seen some great work from single cameramen. Like what Daniel and his crew did with the carving shot--then he turns around and shoots this wicked DIY medical spot. Now I am not in Daniel's league but his range of work between the two projects/genres gives me the added drive.... it is all very encouraging. This where the excitement lies for me. The possibilities...

times have indeed changed.. I think it has gone from "test" shots to all-out production now that people are starting to get comfortable putting their cameras into heavy production.

And the good thing is.. i think this is just the tip of the iceberg :)

i see a lot of stuff without any cc, natural lighting, etc. that still looks really good--which is testimony to what you guys have done with Red itself.

I believe that you are absolutely correct Jarred, I know of several projects all above the 10mil budgets, including four of my own, with distribution deals with major players such as Lionsgate, I also Know for fact, as I directly have gear involved in it, there is several projects which use RED's for 3D feuture films production, Movies, not videos, and are as well over 10mil in budget and also already have a distribution deal.

This are great times for Digital, and RED will make it grow an unprecedented rate, more then any other technology has done so in the past for the film industry.

I'm just happy to be a part of this evolutionary revolution of the media, and now more then ever I believe in Having found in RED, the perfect tool for my Storytelling.

Ciao

I've been astounded as well with the quality of the projects we're putting through. The lighting and feel of the camera, continously wows me especially on projection screens. Have to say I'm going to miss the level of intimacy that working in the high end digital cinema stuff had previously, but really it comes down to the imagery. Bravo guys.

it has been a loooong voyage until here, and the footage now proves that it was worth every single mile :)

the images and productions showing up now are the -real- and -best- compliment to the camera and the team behind it.
