  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shootout

I almost find it amusing that pretty much all of the anti-RED posts in the comment section of that article come from the exact same person using fake e-mail addresses.

Yup, internet trolling "at it's finest". Or not, as the case may be....

On the edge... but helpful reading, anyway.

I have two reservations running yet. Only for logistic reasons, not 'cause of any doubt there. For other readers, if there's any concern added around the corner, take a glance on this:

...and you can figure out the Graeme's worthless quote, perfectly well, anyway.

You've got to laugh at the brazen audacity of the fake email addresses. It's obviously someone with an agenda, or someone who just likes stirring up trouble. We'll see if they turn up at NAB with their F23 to shoot my zone plate :-)

how can u tell?

Well, they're very generic, non-video domains, all of the form first.last@domain.com, when you email them, they bounce, and two "different" people have the same domain.com.

The F23 rez charts, and especially the EX1 do prove our point though, that you cannot get full 1920x1080 resolution from 1920x1080 sensors without introducing unwanted aliasing artifacts. The only way to get a clean, high resolution image is to start with a very high resolution and use proper filtering. And that's what we do.

Apart from the way the comments are written, if you look carefully at the e-mail addresses, they are quite random and most definitely fake because the .com addresses are for companies that have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

jim.taylor@keiser.com -fitness equipment
Jerry.Miles@keiser.com - fitness equipment
Jim.Washington@nestle.com - Food company

I didn't get to see the comment that was removed but apparently they came to the same conclusion that I did and recognized it was fake. I did see some useful and insightful comments in there which is nice but I seriously hate having to comb through the shit that people post because they are in asswipe mode. I was thinking about posting a bit of an angry rant here about those kinds of people but I find myself not wanting to sink that low. All I can say about RED is to just keep on doing what you're doing. The universe works itself out. :calm:
