This goes out to all those red editors and producers out there...

So you've cut your project but now you have to online the 4K files... I ran into this prob. recently cutting a short entitled STICK, but I found a solution!! and it's cheap - thank God.

The software is available at http://www.crimsonworkflow.com for 189 bucks.

It's an overcomplicated site, but the program is super easy to use. This coming from a Writer, Director and Producer: THE BRAGGART and TAKOMA PARK (premiering at the 08 Tribeca Film Festival.) Both 35mm projects finished photochemically.

crimsonworkflow makes conforming easy - and gives me basically what RGB lights gave me in the past, finishing photochemically. Tools like Scratch are great, but can over complicate the decision making process, and cost a small fortune.

Times are a changin'.

Yes - do you know him?

Yes - do you know him?

I realize there are other threads on the site about this software but they are so complicated that I wanted to post something that someone like me would understand right away.

This program has been huge and I wanted to help get the word out. I had to read that other thread like 6 times just to understand what the hell was going on. But the program is SO easy - online your 4K files (or 2K for that matter).

Have you tried it yet?? My neg cutter aint gonna be too happy I'll tell you that much.

yeah - FCP.

Site says it will work for avid etc soon.. for what it's worth.

The perfect solution at the right time. Congrats Ian- you are a genius. I've been getting a lot of questions as to what are the best ways of getting back to the source for onlining. Now I have an answer.

How are you David, it's been a while.

Vlad! My god, good to hear from you. When are you going to be on the East Coast again?? Antonio is getting Married next month... can you believe that?

David, I don't recall Antonio. I might be getting confussed with someone else. You came with Ian to play with my Red camera outside of the Hilton in midtown when the PL mount was stuck and one of us had to hold the lense on when we shot something. I'm good doing great, I'm looking to head out to the East Coast after NAB sometime

Vladimir - yes - I did have you confused. Sorry about that.

How is the RED treating you these days?? Are you putting some serious burn on it?? Definately get your hand on this crimsonworkflow.com software if you are editing at all. It'll save you a fortune on conforming your source files. Then again if someone else is doing your post then no need to worry about it.
