  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The inevitable 1250-1500 thread...

yessss......arrived this second

A good one, though... Better than the:

We are seriously sorry to announce that we have a production delay... :)
They ARE a business after all :)

Wow I can't believe this moment has finally arrived! I know this question has been asked a million time before, but I was not going to benefit from it so why pay attention:biggrin: How long after Red has received money does it take to take ownership?

Good to see the new batch but in the next one, will you still send out "only" 250 cameras?
Why try to smash out 500 :D

After payment has been received by RED, it takes a minimum of 3-5 days to process your order. One million and one - and counting... :)

so that you can gauge your expectations on shipping and interacting with your Bomb Squad rep...

my e-mail blast arrived March 4, and i responded to it same-day, not instantaneously, because it took me several hours to find all of my documentation, collate it, re-calculate my order and send an inital response (you can save time by having all of this already ready to go on your end...)

i did not hear back from the Bomb Squad until late the next day.

it took us 8 e-mail interchanges to get everything clarified and squared away to our mutual satisfaction. some of these were same-day interactions, but in some cases it took somewhere between 24-48 hours to get a response.

my camera arrived on March 14. i paid $41 extra for overnight delivery because we were hitting the weekend, and that would have pushed it out further still.

we are still back-ordered on a few things, so my shipment is not entirely done, but my camera is rigged and running, and i love it!

in retrospect, i believe that this was a pretty efficient scenario (though, of course, it didn't seem so at the time. after all this time of watching this project unfold, every additional second seemed like an eternity...).

i believe that mine was one of the first in my batch to ship, and i think it had to do with staying close to the process and providing RED with every piece of documentation that i had.

and i had the money waiting in my account already.

if you don't take the advice that i mentioned previously, then you will probably have to add some time to this outlook. this may not be the absolute best-case scenario, but i feel it was, at least, a very good-case scenario.

if you have not already paid up, then i would add probably another week to these calculations. if you don't have your documentation and need RED to track down all of this information for you, add another week (keeping in mind that this is all of my speculation, based on my personal experience....)

get ready to feel frustration, but that's just because, as an earlier reservation holder, you've been waiting for awhile. now all of your impatience will suddenly will get unleashed because you are sooooo close. so keep that in mind and keep it in check.

be good to your Bomb Squadder, and your Bomb Squadder will be good to you.

i hope this helps you all to manage your expectations and frustrations.

documentation - receipts for any down payments you may have made, whether through deposits, phone orders, the online store, etc. i had placed orders and deposits for various bits four different times over the course of the past 18 months....

you may have received this info through more than one e-mail account, collate it into one account for them....

if your actual order resembles what you receive in your e-mail blast, more power to you, no doubt you will get through the system efficiently....

another question you've probably answered a million times...

once the order is processed "approxiamately" how long to ship?

thanks
