Hello all,
I've just finished a spoof music video for the song "Love Me Sexy" from Will Farrells new movie Semi Pro. I shot it to enter into a contest to win some cash and an xbox etc.. and thought, what better to shoot it on than the red.
Here is the Video on youtube:

I haven't uploaded a highres copy to the net yet, but I will if there is interest. In the meantime, i've attached some stills for all to view. Please rate the video if you can so I can win the contest. Also, if I have time, i'll upload some untimed shots so you can see what I pulled out of the low light stuff.
Basically, I shot the video over 3 separate days, after work, 4-5 hours a day. Minimal planning was involved the first day, we thought we were only going to shoot some tests, and then all of a sudden this video came into being. The whole thing is a testament to the usability of the red camera. I cobbled together equipment over the next few days after that, and this is what we came out with. Minimal lights, very low light readings, and alot of pushing. The night stuff in the beginning is pushed around 3-4 stops.
I hope you enjoy, here is some tech data and some stills. We processed the r3d files using redline into HD Prores files which happened at about 4fps from the 4k files, with full debayer, and max detail, just for fun.
I shot the video with the Birger Mount and various Canon Lenses:
2.8 28mm
1.4 50mm
Fixed 2.8 24-70
And the el cheapo 18-50 that comes with the rebel for the wide shots
We ran build 14, except for the white cyc stuff, where we used a different camera with build 13.
Note, these are quick graded shots from inside redalert. Final grading was done in apple's color. We had a crew of two people for most of the shoot, except the hottub night, where we had an additional two guys come help us out.s
Enjoy and please rate the video so we win!
Also, the low light stuff was shot at 1/24th shutter.
This is the 50mm wide open with a single kino rim, and a single kino for a slight bit of fill to avoid too much noise. I didn't have a meter, but as you can imagine, there was basically no light. There is actually some more detail in the skyline, but it's always a tradeoff between detail and noise, this won out for me.
Basketball footage on the cyc was actually shot with the Red 18-50mm at around a 5.6 to 8 depending on if we were shooting varispeed or not. This is a 4K shot
This is a 2k shot in varispeed.
This hottub stuff was great fun as you can imagine. The two kinos are vertically hanging over the hotub just to the edge of each side of the frame, and there is a source4 barrelling down into the hottub from just behind and above the camera. Lots of stop latitude here. I loved the way it turned out. This was a pre timing frame grab, so the color doesn't match the final video, and in reality, in the heat of battle, blew out too much information in the highs on the final product. This still represents the shoot very well. This was shot on the Canon 2.8 24-70 wide open. This is 4k also.
I will post the rest of the photos as a reply.
Also, that is me in the video.
