As described in my earlier thread I have a number of clips that have duplicate reel data as a result of some RED quirk.

I need to fix it? How? AFAIK the Reel and Clip data exists in the file/directory names, the file metadata and the R3D file header. Is it possible to change all these things? What is the right way to fix this? Having clip names that clash is a huge problem for me.

RED? Someone? Please help. If there is no pre-existing way, then a small application to correct this issue would be very very beneficial - command line would be fine.

#8 bailing wire should do the trick

I think I do not understand this solution? How will wire fix this?

It's a joke. It is a common expression in New Zealand that anything can be made/fixed with number 8 wire (a common grade of fencing wire used in farming).
