  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Pornography

Would content producers want to bother with the current workflow particulars & production overhead?

I don't know. I'm sure getting a better DP would help out. I saw U2 3D recently and it looked pretty cool, it was like having the best seat at a concert. just thought I'd see if anyone was trying to push the pornography format a little further.

Porn doesn't look good at 1080, why would they take that even further with 4K...yikes!

Get better chicks.

No actually, RED looks great. It has great skin tonality and a very smooth look about it.

Porn or not... at 4K people are people. Sexy girls are sexy girls whether they are Julia Roberts in a miniskirt on the bigscreen or whatever - we're going to have to deal with it. Maybe that's no sharpening in post.

There has been porn shot on 35mm film of course. Same difference.

mmm VGA...

I dont see the market for it. if anything eventually 1080i followed by some 1080p might become the norm... for now miniDV is probably the best option.

I really want to post under this but too many thoughts running through my head at the same time.

4K is waaaaay less forgiving than 35mm. A pimply butt is a pimply butt no matter how high-res.

640x480 seems like a good compromise.

Shoot RED and post the 1K proxy. 35mm DOF smooths things also... Best of both worlds. It doesn't look like crappy handheld DV and it's not 4K.

With up to 1000 cameras in the market now, I would say the chances of a 'private' porno having been shot is very very high... You know, a romantic night at home with the better half, new unused RED sitting in the corner, one thing leads to another... And heck, the 5min runtime of the 8GB card wouldn't be a problem :P

4K porn would sure promote the makeup and sfx departments. There would probably even be a dermatologist listed in the credits.

Hi-res zits are just one of the things that will 'pop' in 4k.

I think I will go take a Imodium now.
