  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Module dates in relation to S35 release

Does anyone know if all of the modules will be ready either before or at the same time as the S35... because when I lay down my money I want to have it all ready to go...

S35( will this ship with RED PL(to use the 17-50))

can I order this all at once or at least the modules and everything else before the S35 comes out?
 
lol I finally decide that if I am going to go I am Going to go big... oh, or was that sarcasm, "like where have you been under a rock because we don't know module release dates?" lol Hey man wish I lived in New York thinking about moving out their my fiance wants to move back she is from Jersey... I have a serious obsession for film how are job opportunities up their? I cant decide If I want to just go for it and try to find jobs or to continue on with college and go to Film School, and suggestions, Please? lol can't wait for the S35 its gonna be a beast...

Epic-X and Epic S35 will most likely come out slightly before Scarlet S35.

Because Epic and Scarlet use the same modules and accessories (Except for their respective module adaptors), the items you mentioned should be available for purchase. However, there is always the chance that some things could be backordered.

The Bomb EVF is slated to come out in the next month ... or two ... or so. If you know that you will want this, perhaps you might want to place your deposit early.

In terms of media, there will be several ways to go. (Compact Flash, 1.8" SSD, Red Drives, Red Ram)

I know all of this my friend but I appreciate it All I want to know is the likely hood that I could order this all at once that is all... I have followed everything RED and am obsessed... thinking of making a mobile debayer and editing station out of a VW bus... Giant RED logo on the front instead of the VW symbol... Hey by the way how are things as far as production stuff in new york...

This may seem unhelpful, but its the best I can offer.

I THINK it is EXTREMELY LIKELY all that will be out for the S35. And the parts that seem on target to come out last, they are all easily covered with something currently existing (I am thinking of gunner (which I want) can be a rail system from someone else, Marshall has an HDMI 7" lcd, etc)

Red has given no firm dates even for Scarlet 2/3 and Epic, because they don't know for sure. So they haven't said anything about the modules.

Since the major delay for the new cams is the ASIC, I bet most of the other modules are already in production or near production and just being held until the cams are ready to be released. They said in December that the Bomb EVF's were in beta testing in the field and work with Red 1 too.
 
Yeah I really want the gunner and the touch LCD I already have a full rigged 7D while I waited, and I have a lot of REDROCK gear... I hope everything works out... I just cant wait... But what is another 8 months or so when I have been patient for 3 years now...

I am sure that you will be able to order it all at once. As far as the immediate availability ... your guess is as good as anyone else's.

That said ... I am fairly sure, as David mentioned, that RED will produce the modules and accessories with an anticipation of demand. Jarred has often said that they have learned a great deal from the first camera and it's accessories.

lol Just trying to figure out if I should start film school and wait for the economy to bounce back or to just move to cali. or new york and start working especially when I get my S35... yeah I was thinkin either a small generator or solar panels to run the electronics... pull up on site, plug in your cam and away we go convert the footage to what ever format you would like and even let people do on site editing... 2 RED Rocket™ enabled 8 core Mac Pro's, Breakout box and RED RAY PRO stack, 10 1TB Raid drives, dual screen 30" cinema displays on the far wall, slammed, RED and BLACK van, Carbon Fiber floor(lol), sound foam lining the walls and ceiling... slide back safari top, in floor mount for a crane/jib(sticking out the roof)... flip out sony 4K projector and a portable 70' screen, outside sound system... My dream ride... Man!, if I had the money i could build it in a month... now I just need to find a VW bus for cheap(impossible), oh yeah and win the lottery. Pull up at RED DAY and just chill... lol
