  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shipping delay? Or are we just particularly unlucky?

We did indeed, we sent the payment and received a confirmation you received and processed it. We were just wondering how the delay might affect us? We, just as everyone else around here, are getting really excited at the idea of actually having a RED in our hands! So, we were just wondering... patiently...

I have been all paid up since Monday and have been through a few different hurdles and have not received confirmation that anything has shipped yet. I already have so many things set up. I really hope I get this in time.

#758 was paid up last Thursday. I hope we got shipped today with #791.

Just wanting to hear about tracking numbers. No base pack so that should not be holding us up.

Why would a base production pack hold up shipping a camera. Since the other things don't. I'm sure folks would be happy to test and start working with whatever is ready to ship.

Why would a base production pack hold up shipping a camera. Since the other things don't. I'm sure folks would be happy to test and start working with whatever is ready to ship.

This is true.. and is being implemented. All you really need to get going is a camera, monitor and a power source.

Why set up anything before you actually have camera in hand, time to practice and not have a camera on rental standby? Jim himself has said not to plan productions/projects around the proposed shipment of the RED.

Just a question.

Account management (as well as order modification) functionalities are in development for RED.com. For now, email your sales rep (they guy your "your camera is nearly ready to ship" email came from) with any mods. If you are on an older delivery batch with the generic "sales@red.com" email offering, I suggest emailing kelly@red.com so she can inform you who your sales rep is.

I'm a little concerned with this thread considering it shows #s in the 600's that have not shipped. We paid for our RED #964 the end of Feb. and were told it was ready except for the bottom plate and dovetail. We decided to wait for those pieces since I didn't want to try to work with the camera on a tabletop. Now I'm a little concerned that the 1 week delay for the parts may actually be longer as Red ships 200+ cameras before mine.

It's kinda hard to understand how inventory control failed to notice an approaching shortage of bottom plates and dovetails. Unless, the parts are being redesigned forcing a longer delay. If so, I'm concerned this will not be resolved in a week or so.

RA Post, you cannot go off of RED serial number as a gauge of where we are shipping. Remember, we only ship if a order has been paid for. So, there are some people who did not pay right away so serial numbers after them that did pay right away would be delivered first. We are processing #1001-#1250 right now. I would not be overly concerned with incremental delays due to BOTTOM PLATE and DOVETAIL. The reason for the delay is they will be with our new finish process. As we get quantities of these over the coming days, we will fulfill the backorder for them.

What is the latest news on these delays?
On Monday i was happy to hear that "we should be able to ship you your camera this week" without the BOTTOM PLATE and DOVETAIL if i wanted to. Now I called and am back to hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday.
But that is what I was told two weeks ago.

What is realistic?
I need to make choices...
