Not sure if it has been noted here before, this option board will help 4k along.

"The deck can now support DPX RGB and Cineon 10-bit files. Transfer capabilities can be controlled through common browser applications like Internet Explorer®, Firefox® and Safari™.

With the new option board, the deck can also record HD standard signals as well as uncompressed data recording of up to 4K full aperture (2048 by 1556/4096 by 3112)

Wonder when it will be available?

It must be for DI mastering of movies shot on film.

Will surely fit into into a complete Sony 4k hardware solution from camera to screen.
They have recorder and projector all that is missing is the camera. New F35 is initially 2k but with a 4k cam to follow eventually, at a price:)
