  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedTrip is EOL - CRIMSON is coming!!

Sounds interesting, are we being teased about Premiere on Mac or Pc? Both would rock, but to truly support Premiere it needs to be both (I'm hoping you're that good).

Great news, I hope your hard work turns into some well deserved dollars. It will if you are really making the PC workflow actually painless.

Anybody has an old PC laptop that can run XP, should consider donating it as a development machine. I can't bring myself to buy one.

Very funny... I'm laughing... (Points to chest) in here... Where it counts!
:)

And I did a good job too, got the thing running 3.2ghz... Sparks come out now and then, but they look cool!

Jay -

Ian and I talked about you yesterday - and we decided that you are the PERFECT target customer (maybe even beta-tester?) for Ian's app.

To be honest, from the XML we threw at it - I think it may be past "beta" anyway -

You are going to be so happy you will loose your mind - and I predict a LONG, ENTHUSIASTIC post from you ...

I'd be more than happy to beta-test for Windows/Premiere CS3 as well.

I have a Windows laptop I could loan you as a development mule, if you seriously need it...

If you need any other beta testers, I'll throw in my hat too. Heck I'd like to even throw in the dev time that can pull this stuff off LTO-3/4 as well. We've already got the code from DPX's.

If you have a Quantum A series LTO drive - (our application previously called "RedTools" soon to have a new name as soon as we think of it) - you are in luck - our application will do an automated pull of RDCs used in a cut, or the change list ...

and OBVIOUSLY, if you can read between the lines, Offhollywood's app and Ian's app will be "fully integrated" -

If Luke Skywalker was a Ninja...you'd get Ian...methinks.

Not possible, Ninja`s are a hollywood fantasy not based on any known Japanese historical fact, unlike Jedi Knights which obviously are real (see documentary `Starwars`). Now that I`ve corrected you on that, would someone mind telling us all what the hell Crimson actually does and stop tickling our eyes with your text based teasing, thats Jims OCB.

What happens when you change the fps speed of a clip? Will this be affected in redcine where there is a project fps and nothing else?

You will need to render the clip in it's entirety, with handles, so that final cut can properly retime the rendered clip. Recognizing that situation will not be in first release build but... I'm on the case. I understand that people will be doing that often.
