After I realized my last test "for audio purposes" was 4k 16x9, which isn't supported in QT proxies, I did a new shoot at 2k.

But, since I wanted to also test something else interesting visually, I lit this shot using only two Par64s with absolutely no gain.

Filmed: Feb 22
Red Settings: 2k 2:1 Redcode 36, 1/48 shutter, ASA 320, Build 14
Red Zoom: 30mm, T5.6

There is a bit of a delay between when she speaks and when we hear her speak. At what stage in the process did that happen? And in longer clips does the delay stay consistent or (scary) become more pronounced? Just curious.

Of course, it could just be my copy. Stranger things have happened in the world of long downloads.

Phil, did you download the raw R3D or the processed QT?

Shawn is the background sound from the location or from the mic?

Background sound? Can you clarify? The mic is an MKH60 Sennheiser, a mic you'd see on a top-level Hollywood movie. It is very nice. It was in a full suspension and windjammer.

The processed quicktime. I've never even touched an R3D file. Should I? Come to think of it, of the 20 or 30 clips I've looked at, I don't think any of them had diegetic sound, or at least none that would be sync-noticeable.

Might be a dumb question, but if -you- DL the processed QT, does it work on your end?

Shawn I am not questioning the quality of the microphone or your production values. As I re-listened to the clip I am thinking that the sound that I am hearing is because the microphone is so good.

Before your Chantelle speaks it is possible to hear some background noise. Is that road noise?

rmott, it's fine, you can question away, I am not a sound guy, I merely know how to plug in an expensive mic :-). Yes, that is background noise

I just re-DL'd it into a different folder and the QT is synced for me.
