Boycott Continental!! Feb 1 they raised their excess baggage rates to $100 per bag, $150 for bags over 50lbs. No longer offering a media rate, unless you have an elusive "media card" offered to networks (ABC, CBS etc) They hit me with a $600 excess baggage charge today, showing no flexibility. Jet blue on the other hand is very film friendly. We need to be able to travel our cameras or they will sit at home.:shiftyph34r:

What other airlines are carry-on friendly?

The trans-Atlantic deregulation is coming up soon so we should see more airlines flying US/Europe routes before the end of the year. Hopefully the competition will improve the carry-on allowances.

Southwest still allows you THREE checked bags per person.

I'd be impressed if they, or any other airline, could guarantee that those checked bags wouldn't disappear between the beginning and the end of the flight. It doesn't help to watch the baggage handlers tossing that gear around with no regard to the contents. The airlines should have automated loading and unloading of baggage from the time the bags are dropped at the front desk right up until the bags are picked up at the receiving airport. Also there should be a digital checkout system to get the bags, so that the bags aren't sitting out on a conveyor for anyone to pick up.

This is highly critical not only for professional moviemaking, but also if you ever decide to be together with a girl...

... an ex girlfriend of mine indeed succeeded in exceeding the star alliance gold status, 1st class luggage weight limit for two persons. Alone.

taking it on board is often the only way to be really sure.
