  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A tribute to Jim...

Thanks for sharing this, Elcurado. Really nice slideshow (my pc had quite a hard time playing it back). Will try it again as soon as my render-job is done.

She's a real beauty, that's for sure.

EDIT: Hey that was really great. Liked the focal shift. Also nice editing.

But to be honest? Don't you think it's just a black computerbox with a lens?

And an imager. An excellent imager, capability for the best lenses, store the raw image data to be processed however you like. Sounds like a great DSLR.

Oh, but it does 24, 30, 60 or more FPS - movies!

But that's the whole point, give us what we really need - superhighres motion pictures - at a heretofore unmatched price.

Thanks again to all.

You guys make my day!

Btw some quick technote:
Shot 4k, 16:9, 25fps, Redraid.
Red 18-50 and Red 300mm, both full aperture.
Little s-curve in Redcine, export QT Prores HQ 1080 25p, quick editing in FCP, export to H264.

Macpro - 3,2Ghz - Nvidia 8800 - 10 Giga Ram - Leopard, Quicktime 7.4.1

All smooth and fluent, just a little wait (overnight, don't know exactly) to transcode from Redcine to Qt.

That's all.

It felt kinda like an Apple commercial. At least in the tone of it. But slightly more serious.

This is going to sound dumb, but what shots were with the 300? and i'm not wondering about the camera you shot at, but the one you shot with. It is really sweet, I'm just wanting to check on the shots that I thought were extra nice, that they are doable on the 18-55.

Elcurado, how much footage did you process in Redcine? Want to see what your processing times were looking like.

Thanks,

Actually I own only one 18-50 and one 300 (waiting for the 50-150 and the primes set). Therefore every picture that shown the small lens is shot with the big one... :turned:

Thanks,

I have transcoded all the footage with the same settings (approx 30 minutes, ciak, tail and dirty thing included). Really don't know how much time the process take... Less than a night, more than one hour.

Great stuff, Elcurado.

Elcurado is a god.

Hey Jarred, I have notice just now your reply...

Too much! Thanks a lot.

Bassam:
Yes, here 7.4.1 and Leopard are working...
Please note that I don't use proxies or RedAlert as well.

Bravo, bravo, arcibravo!
